That be him. Where were you hiding?

Down low, far left.

Big hoodie, that place was freaking freezing! Guess I'm shy. But now I kinda wish I caught up with U guys.

Was Mbossy the guy with the Harley shirt?

Just got back from the scrimmage (had to stop and get some tacos).

Brief thoughts:

Eno looked good. Enroth, not so much.

Ennis was the best player on the ice.

Gragnani isn't worth keeping.

Didn't see enough of Myers (he wasn't on the ice a lot), but he was on the ice for the third blue goal, so a -1 for the Myers-Weber line.

Gerbe didn't look like anything special.

McNabb was a surprise.

All in all, worth going to, even though it wasn't overly exciting.

Also, ink didn't assault me with his calves, but we did stand around and look bad-ass.

So many new guys, hard to keep track. That and most of the names were floating around in the wind after the first half.

Gerbe: totally UNimpressed.

Ennis: he's got some wheels and great stick handling. At one point he kept the puck on his stick for a good 40 seconds, skating around looking for someone to pass to.

McNabb: he definitely is 6'-4". Laid some nice hits as well.

Myers, Butler, Weber. Yes, men among boys. These guys never seemed to "freak out" when challenged.

Foligno likes to hit.

Lamoureau made some good saves. Better than Eno or Enroth IMO.

Took a bunch of picks, I'll try to load 'em up tonight.

I'm lazy, I'll simply agree with the bolded stuff.

It seemed most of them tried to do it all themselves and not pass a lot. Many of them not taking the passes well, bouncing off their sticks.

Weber was cute, before the second half he was doing some waltz jumps warming up.

Feel left out? If it makes U feel any better, I wouldn't have said Hi to U either.

I was going to post my thoughts about today's scrimmage, but it looks as though many came away with the same impressions I did.

1. Ennis played very well today.

2. Myers and Weber were really good (not a surprise). They were probably the best players on the ice.

3. Enroth had a TERRIBLE day. He is better than he was today. He let in a couple very soft goals.

4. Kennedy was steady. Nothing real fancy, but he makes the smart plays.

5. Gerbe was bad today. I do like Gerbe, but he has nt been good the 2 days of Camp that i went to this week. He had a terrible giveaway today right in front of his own net that almost cost his team a goal. He is better than what he showed today, but he wasn't good today.

6. Other than Myers or Weber, there really weren't any D-Men that stood out.

7. It looks like they made an effort to get a look at some to the 2nd tier guys. Players like Myers, Weber, Kennedy and to some extent Gerbe did not see the ice time that some of the other players did. I think this was probably done on purpose to get a look at some of the fringe guys.

8. All in all a pretty good scrimmage. I went to last year's as well and this year it seemed much more intense. Last year there was virtually no hitting and this year you could tell the intensity was up.

9. While there were some plays made, there was nothing that was really spectacular. Nothing STOOD OUT as highlight reel quality.

10. Lots of Sabres staff watching Lindy watched the game up in the private section. even RJ was there taking in the action! Kassian was watching as well as he has been all week.

All in all a pretty good scrimmage to watch, but there were a lot of mistakes. No real surprises.

Were you by any chance hiding in some bushes with a pair of binoculars when you spotted them?

Foligno smeared him on the glass like a bug on a windshield. That was his first hit on Jokinen. He hit him again after he got up and took him down again.

dammit chz. I wore the Yuri jersey and you still didn't come say hi? I even milled around quite a while after it was over, making myself easily findable for those not so bold as ink. Yeesh. :chris:

Mbossy -- thanks for posting the photos. They got my blood pumping. Holy mackarel I'd like to see Myers, Weber, Kennedy and maybe Gerbe on the Sabres this year.

I thought it was interesting that Lindy was sitting in the end zone -- I think the coaches prefer that perspective as it helps them see the play develop and whether the players are in the right spots and taking the correct angles.

I'm also waiting for PAFan to suggest that Lindy and Darcy have a little extra something going on based on their body language in one of those pictures.
