carpandean Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Leafs just took Komisarek 5 yr, $22.5 million ($4.5 million per year.)
Calvin Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 5 yr, $22.5 million ($4.5 million per year.) would Darcy have come up with that kind of money? i doubt it..
Swedesessed Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 would Darcy have come up with that kind of money? i doubt it.. Why would he for an overrated defenceman?
Calvin Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Why would he for an overrated defenceman? i'd give him another year or two before declaring him a bust
ROC Sabres Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Why would he for an overrated defenceman? or Connolly? Oh wait.
Swedesessed Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 i'd give him another year or two before declaring him a bust I mean he is good at blocking shots etc....but he is not a great, $4.5M a year dman.
wjag Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 5 yr, $22.5 million ($4.5 million per year.) That number makes the Spacek pickup look good..
Swedesessed Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 or Connolly? Oh wait. Well, that is another story
wonderbread Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Kubina to ATL for defenceman Garnet Exelby and winger Colin Stuart, while Atlanta also gets the rights to forward Tim Stapleton.
bob_sauve28 Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I #%^$#!ing can't believe this!! MTL just stepped up..... BIG TIME and its gonna suck in our division. Why should he be fired? They want to be the new New York Rangers I like the Caps picking up Knuble, though. Nice move
nfreeman Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 That's the crazy part.. Their entire team is ready to be cherry picked. I guess when the league sets it up for you to host the All Star Game and Draft and you don't make the grade, heads will roll. There are four names on that list that would look good sporting a slug: Komisarek, Kovalev, Koivu and Lang.. I'd be very happy with Lang, if healthy, or Koivu. Komisarek is gone and I think Kovy will stay.
wonderbread Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 IMO, Heatley' an azzhola. Like an old lady driving slow in the passing lane that won't move over. I like to pretend I am the spyhunter when I see that bitch.
stenbaro Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I'd be very happy with Lang, if healthy, or Koivu. Komisarek is gone and I think Kovy will stay. Rivet and Koivu are pretty good friends. There is a chance( a small one) he ends up in Buffalo...
SabresFan526 Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Rivet and Koivu are pretty good friends. There is a chance( a small one) he ends up in Buffalo... With Gomez and Cammalleri now there, Koivu's career in Montreal is effectively over. I would not mind seeing him in Buffalo. He'd be a good addition.
ROC Sabres Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Rivet and Koivu are pretty good friends. There is a chance( a small one) he ends up in Buffalo... That's not something i would bank on. Just reminds me of the trade deadline with Miller and Liles being good friends and might want to come to buffalo. Either way, I would like him here also.
shrader Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 would Darcy have come up with that kind of money? i doubt it.. Just out of curiosity, are you going to say that for every single player who signs somewhere else?
stenbaro Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 That's not something i would bank on. Just reminds me of the trade deadline with Miller and Liles being good friends and might want to come to buffalo. Either way, I would like him here also. I wasnt banking on it I just heard being mentioned around the arena today with some of the vet players in town checking the rookies out who are getting ready for rookie camp
Calvin Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Just out of curiosity, are you going to say that for every single player who signs somewhere else? any reason i shouldn't? it'd be good to know exactly what he would pay for quality
X. Benedict Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 any reason i shouldn't? it'd be good to know exactly what he would pay for quality You already know the answer - 5x5.
ROC Sabres Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 The word we have all been waiting for. TSN Reports: Darcy Regier was seen exiting HSBC Arena and quoted "free agency is over, right?" Sorry, just slow right now.
rickshaw Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 The question is, does Bob Gainey get the same kind of rope as Glen Sather does? I mean, clearly, Gainey is trying to copy Sather's method, which we all know doesn't work. Sather has to be the worst GM in the game, yet never gets fired. Gainey is #2 on that worst list, imo. Montreal isn't going anywhere we these signings.
shrader Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 any reason i shouldn't? it'd be good to know exactly what he would pay for quality The whole "I would've signed this guy, I would've signed that guy" thing is worthless. It doesn't matter whether or not the Sabres would paid that much for these guys. They may or may not have been interested at these rates, but whatever, they're signed and they're gone.
spndnchz Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 TSN is reporting Gaborik to the Rangers. 5 years x $7.5per http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283470
ROC Sabres Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Gaborik to NYR 28.75 for 5 years (5.75/per) And now Ek is calling Heatley to Edm(e5) waiting for TSN.
