Who will be the Team USA goalie

Both Miller and Thomas will go. I do think Miller will play though. With a better defense, Miller would do better stats wise. I think US coaches will realize he is the better choice and more likely choice for a goalie to carry the team if he needs to.

Both Thomas and Miller were invited to camp, but I don't consider Thomas to be a lock for the starting job just yet. He may cool off--there's a reason why he was in his 30s before anyone knew who he was. Or he may not. And Miller might be worn out by January. Anyway, here's the list of players invited to camp, per TSN:

Goaltenders: Ryan Miller, Jonathan Quick, Tim Thomas

Defensemen: Tom Gilbert, Tim Gleason, Ron Hainsey, Erik Johnson, Jack Johnson, Mike Komisarek, Paul Martin, Brooks Orpik, Brian Rafalski, Rob Scuderi, Ryan Suter, Ryan Whitney

Forwards: David Backes, David Booth, Dustin Brown, Dustin Byfuglien, Ryan Callahan, Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, Patrick Kane, Ryan Kesler, Phil Kessel, Jamie Langenbrunner, Ryan Malone, Mike Modano, Kyle Okposo, T.J. Oshie, Zach Parise, Joe Pavelski, Bobby Ryan, Paul Stastny.

Hmmmm. Ryan Callahan, Oshie, Okposo before Gaustad and Pommers?

Maybe the hockey world doesn't overrate Sabres the way Buffalo fans do?

Miller's a great example of that.

What are you talking about? Best. Goalie. EVAAAAR.

(Seriously, though, I can envision a scenario where he beats Thomas for the starting job. I wouldn't bet on it, but I can envision it.)

My inital reaction didn't quite go their with that conjecture, it went more like;

Hmmm no other Sabres on the team good enough to be considered for USA ?

Nope. Especially not with the reputation as the softest team in the league hanging over their heads.

We are talking about the pool of US players here....and let's be specific........it's Brian Burke, and he's not the hockey world. This is just a selection camp.

Ryan Miller:  I think there are just as many examples of people that think he stinks because he isn't Dom Hasek.

Whenever anyone appreciates him, it is like a loaf of poop on your pillow. No fawning people, no fawning.

Couldn't resist, I see.

We just might spend too much time together.

It's nearly July and we are both still thinking and talking hockey.... which I appreciate.

I really do. It gets claustrophobic living out of my van in rainstorms, please pardon the scatological reference.

Would Pominville being Canadian hurt his chances of making Team USA?

No.

EDIT: Aw, hell, I'm trying to be nice. Deleted my sarcastic comment. Just refer to X Benedict.
