SabresFanInRochester Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Knowing he wasn't going to Buffalo, I am happy to see that he's out of the East. Seeing him in Montreal would not have been fun.

carpandean Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Knowing he wasn't going to Buffalo, I am happy to see that he's out of the East. Seeing him in Montreal would not have been fun. Hmm ... Bouwmeester heads West and Pronger moves East (in separate deals.)
Two or less Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 JayBo needs to sign with Calgary.... Signing JayBo and Phanuef to long term deals puts a lot of money on 2 d-men.
Alaska Darin Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 JayBo needs to sign with Calgary.... Signing JayBo and Phanuef to long term deals puts a lot of money on 2 d-men. It also locks up 30 minutes of ice time and gives them a killer PP on the back end.
X. Benedict Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 It also locks up 30 minutes of ice time and gives them a killer PP on the back end. And that's only if you pair them....you can have one of them on the ice the entire game.
shrader Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 It also locks up 30 minutes of ice time and gives them a killer PP on the back end. It seemed to work in Anahiem. These two will be along much longer than Pronger and Niedermayer though.
IKnowPhysics Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 Bouwmeester is going to sign, but he'll sign on July 1st. It's very unlikely that Calgary will convince him to sign before then. Really- why would he sign before taking inflated offers from every team interested? I believe he let* Florida trade him to let Florida get something in return in exchange for his "f u im out." *He could've stated publicly that he will wait for July 1st, negating the value of any pre-July negotiating time, but he didn't. This allowed Florida to retrieve rights to Leopold and a 3rd for three days of talking.
nfreeman Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 I don't see why most of the posts in this thread assume that Calgary is going to sign him. It might happen, but it's much more likely that he waits until July 1 and then picks the best of what will be a number of good offers. I'm expecting the Rangers to take a shot at him -- and I'd expect he'd rather live in NYC than Calgary.
Anzaloha Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 I think Buffalo would have liked to have gotten Leopold...who is heading for Florida. They can still get him as he will be a free agent. They only have his rights til then.

I have no doubt they will sign him.
