SabresFan526 Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 ESPN's Pierre Lebrun has said that the salary cap will be $56.8 million for the upcoming season. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4290000 I expected it to stay flat or go down slightly. It pretty much stayed flat, but went up by $100K. It's basically the same as last year.

shrader Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 That's good news for Buffalo And should make things interesting in places like Philly and New York. I didn't realize until now how few forwards the Rangers have under contract.

I'm taking great pleasure in that. 4 forwards, 4 defensemen, 1 goaltender - 13 players to sign with 14 million. I'm all for the Sabres signing a sheet offering Dubinsky 5 x 2.5 for a 2nd rounder.
