All the talk about the aud this week since the last wall is about to come down made me think about the old tape i had of the final game there vs hartford. went and looked and sure enough i found it...entire game, ceremony afterward, postgame and tribute they did to the building. anyway i would love to have this all put onto dvd. anyone know of any good places to have that done?

My place, midnight.

It's fitting that the thread died for about 8 hours after this post.

78, good luck with that. I can imagine that you'd be getting a few requests if you do get it on a dvd.

and a few more requests for pictures from the midnight rendezvous.

I believe that I have this on DVD. I'm more than willing to share it, but I don't have the hardware necessary to copy it. If you do, send me a PM. If you've been around here for a while, I'll loan it to you.

If anyone can copy this onto DVD, i will be willing to buy a copy off from you.

Same here. I should be able to make copies as well, if someone will loan me the DVD.

2 years, but 125 posts. Do we trust this guy? I'll assume so, unless someone comes up with some story about how MP ran over his dog or stole his DVD of the Sabres' FIRST game in the Aud or something.

MP, send me your name and address via PM and I will find the DVD and send it to you.

Man, you're gonna freak out when you see my address near Philly... :)

Well, I have some mixed news:

1. I have found my DVD of the last game at the Aud, but...

2. While it contains all of the pre-game footage, including Empire's review of the Aud years, it is missing the third period and post-game. Bummer. Also, there are no commercials, for those of you who want that kind of nostalgia. And...

3. It does not play on my DVD player (circa 2000), but it does play on my computer. Those with older DVD players may have trouble with it.

Still, if anyone wants it, I'm willing to send it to MattPie for duplication (is there no one with the technology who is more local? I'd greatly prefer that...) with the request that he make copies for those of you who want them. Please respect his time & his wallet--offer to pay for a blank DVD and for postage, etc. Please make your arrangements directly with him by PM or some other medium.

AND, there's a BONUS. I also found a DVD copy of the '80 Super Series game between the Sabres and Moscow Central Red Army. I won't spoil by posting the score here (you can check wikipedia if you want) but I will note that this is not the same as the 1976 goalfest between against the Soviet Wings, which the Sabres won 12-6. I'm going to send this to MattPie, or to someone more local, too.

And MattPie--I WANT THESE BACK! Don't forget, I now know where you live. And Inkman knows what you did last summer.

I'm local and certainly willing to help. While I have never actually copied a DVD I've got the software and tech-savviness to pull it off. Send me a PM if need be.

Don't know if this will help you guys, but if you're using a MAC, ROXIO TOAST is very good software. Highly recommend as I own a copy.

I am using a mac--but a mac w/o a DVD burner. I think I got the last one that Apple made.

JimiV, I'm going to take you up on that. You're local enough; in fact, you're in the same neighborhood (Richmond, here). I'll send you a PM.

MattPie--I just feel more comfortable keeping it local. It has a lot more to do with distrust of the mails than it does with distrust of you, although there is that inherent distrust of anyone that lives near Philly. I will make sure you get copies & I will ship them to you gratis since you kindly offered to help.

No worries. :) I'll be in town Father's Day weekend so if they're ready I'll buy you a beer and make the trade, if you'd like.
