Season 29 gp 11 goals 14 25 points -1 Playoffs: 6 gp 1 3 4 -1 Pretty disappointing numbers How much do you think he would get on the open market if he were a UFA today? How much must Danny love his agent? Didn't Connolly get a pay raise with numbers like that? :)

Sabre Dance Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 From what I understand too after reading it again...if article is correct, he is getting something called PRK and not necessarily LASIK. I don't really remember exactly what they do but I don't think that they cut out a little flap like they do is LASIK. Its a similar procedure but supposidly it hurts more and it takes a longer time for your vision to really come through. Who knows, all I know is LASIK kicks ass. PRK is done when the cornea (the clear part covering the front of the eye) is not thick enough to cut a flap into. (I looked into having LASIK and learned that my corneas were too thin). Basically, they are using the laser to do the same thing, except in LASIK, they cut a flap into the corena, fold it back and then use the laser to "re-shape" the cornea to focus the light better. They then fold the flap back and since the cut is so fine, the cornea "seals" itself. That's why recovery time is pretty fast. In laser PRK, they use the laser right on the surface of the cornea; no flap. When done, they put clear protective contact lenses on your eye for a short while (don't remember the number of days exactly...) This definitely can cause more issues, like dryness, halos or stars around bright lights, etc. It also takes longer to heal (months, actually) and the chance of infection is higher. If Briere is having the PRK, that is why he would need to be much more careful. Oh, I never had the PRK since I would need reading glasses anyway (by-product of being over 50). Since more than half my day is spent reading or looking at a computer, it seemed like a lot of hassle to go through (not to mention the possibility of the halos, etc.) so that I didn't have to wear glasses a couple of hours a day. :(
