GoBills is the man! How about the click whistle when the puck was "tied up" along the boards?!

Gallivan was good.

Also, LOVE the "Ooh ahh Sabres on the warpath" organ music after the goal. I guess political correctness would prevent the Sabres from doing that again. God, I hate that stinkin' horn today.

Finally, I've always been a big fan of the old school bench-clearing celebration of a goal. Cool stuff.

I always loved that saying.

Hey--I meant to post this Tuesday, but by the time I was done watching the vid, I was late for work...anyway: great video & thanks for posting it.

Couple of things struck me as I watched this.

1) I would have never thought Luce would get in a tussle. Not only that, but he seemed to drop em pretty quick.

2) The organ playing during the fight was pretty funny. It was weird cause it didn't seem like the crowd was all fired up for the fight as they are now a days, and it was almost like the organist felt everyone was bored and played some music.

3) When #10 scored, I said my mind is going bad, thought that was Ramsey, but he didn't have a helmet on. Then they said just knocked off earlier in the play. Any you old timers remember recognizeing guys just cause they wore a helmet?

4) Dick Irvin was awesome no?

Funny how the game has changed. Now they have names on the backs of the jerseys, ads on the boards, no freezing the puck, helmets for all, shoot-outs, a rinky-dink television contract and a horn that hides how quiet the crowd is. I suppose next they'll be piping in fake crowd noises like Obama does.

Fans only got real excited for the bench clearing brawls.

Nope, Obama stole that from the Canes. Although the NO Saints do that as well, I'm pretty sure that the land of Nascar has the exclusive rights to that little gimmick in the NHL.

I saw a lot of plays away from the puck that today would be called penalties in that footage.

I'll give you that they'd be called 1 month ago. But the same crud has been going on in the 3rd period / OT for the last few games. Remember, "the playoffs are different." - C. Campbell :censored:

The Sabres pregame audio presentation used to have a roaring crowd at the end of it... when it ended, you could hear the crickets chirping in the arena, even before the refs blew a call.

Bit of a difference between piping in crowd noise prior to the game and piping it in while the play is on-going.

wasn't it the 'famed' Seattle Seahawks' 12th man that was attributed to piped-in noise??

The Cane Envy does get tiring. Why don't the Sabres just win the damned Stanley Cup, and why don't the greatest fans in the world just make some noise? Then everyone can be at peace. Easy. :)
