I've seen some videos of Billy Sheehan playing bass. He's great, but not even close to this! Quote

Doohicksie Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 (edited) Who remembers Three Dog Night? Their Captured Live at the Forum album was released a couple weeks after I turned seven. My older brother bought it then; I have his original vinyl. Groovy, man. At the time they were opening for Steppenwolf; the record label sent a crew to record Steppenwolf for a live album and decided to record Three Dog Night too. It turned out to be a big hit for Three Dog Night, reaching #6 on the album charts. This link will play the whole album. Edited February 23, 2020 by Doohickie Quote

Weave Posted February 24, 2020 Report Posted February 24, 2020 I really dig PMJ. Saw them play at UB a couple of years ago. They are very entertaining live. Quote
darksabre Posted February 29, 2020 Author Report Posted February 29, 2020 Every now and then I come across an artist that just vibes the right way, and my newest obsession is Mattiel Brown. https://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-radar/mattiel-interview-satis-factory-2512365 Quote
Ogre Posted March 5, 2020 Report Posted March 5, 2020 Travis T. Warren started in a band called 00-Metro way back. Blind Melon picked him up as front man years and years after Shannon's death but it was rumored that he shared the same affliction and after one album Blind Melon disbanded for good. He is still active in music I think with self produced and self performed stuff. I always thought he was a talented dude. I was always digging this one. Quote

Damn, I thought with all the draft talk going on around here that we still conscripted soldiers into service every year. My bad. Quote

Ogre Posted March 14, 2020 Report Posted March 14, 2020 In my younger carefree/LSD days I had a particular experience where I was simultaneously experiencing the entire kaleidoscope of emotions while holding one finger on the pulse of my existence(basically trying to not lose my mind). I had an enlightenment of sorts, connecting my staked claim on reality to the fate of that of the smallest sub atomic particles , agreeing with happiness about the light and consoling anger in the darkness(and about the darkness). Suddenly Nikola's assertion that we are the light and pain is an illusion and how it's all a symptom of being cut off from it, was real.(Nikola didn't say the part about pain, that was Maynard). I know it seems like a distant rambling and it may be, but it was all very real and it changed the course of my life, may have even saved it. Anyways this song takes me right back. I couldn't find a version with lyrics so I pasted those little buggers. Reflection Tool I have come curiously close to the end, down Beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole Defeated, I concede and Move closer I may find comfort here I may find peace within the emptiness How pitiful It's calling me It's calling me It's calling me It's calling me And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping The moon tells me a secret, my confidant As full and bright as I am This light is not my own and A million light reflections pass over me Its source is bright and endless She resuscitates the hopeless Without her, we are lifeless satellites drifting And as I pull my head out I am without one doubt Don't want to be down here soothing my narcissism I must crucify the ego before it's far too late I pray the light lifts me out Before I pine away Before I pine away Before I pine away Before I pine away So crucify the ego, before it's far too late To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical And you will come to find that we are all one mind Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable Just let the light touch you And let the words spill through And let them pass right through Bringing out our hope and reason Before we pine away (pine away) Before we pine away (pine away) Before we pine away (pine away) Before we pine away For non-commercial use only.
