darksabre Posted February 1, 2018 Author Report Posted February 1, 2018 Giving my (decidedly not perfect) copy of Fly Like an Eagle a spin tonight. I always forget how good it is given the only songs we ever hear are the well known singles. Serenade is one of the best on side A. Quote
darksabre Posted February 6, 2018 Author Report Posted February 6, 2018 It's a very PUSA kinda day. Quote
inkman Posted February 6, 2018 Report Posted February 6, 2018 Been on a Floyd kick lately. David Gilmour is an absolute Witch on the stringy thing. He does the most bizarre things and somehow it turns into wonderful, spacial, thought provoking music. Quote
inkman Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 I'm sorry but Dark Side of the Moon was on the top 40 charts for two decades for a reason. It's unprecedented mind blowing musical genius . Please let me live in David Gilmour's shoes for one minute of my life. Quote
Ogre Posted February 18, 2018 Report Posted February 18, 2018 The new album is getting closer. I particularly like Maynard’s quote here. “This is progressive metal at its most atmospheric...” https://www.avclub.com/maynard-james-keenan-says-hes-almost-done-writing-the-n-1823104366 Been on a Floyd kick lately. I was really into Floyd until I had my many experiments with LSD back in the day. The that came straight out my head took me far away. Farther than Floyd could. If you get me on some old school sativa, though, I’m down. Quote

inkman Posted February 21, 2018 Report Posted February 21, 2018 I can't not think of this when I hear that song. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 21, 2018 Report Posted February 21, 2018 Hey Inky, This Floyd's for you ... Such talent. At 4:40 Nick looses a drum stick and pulls another out of his (?). Quote
That Aud Smell Posted February 21, 2018 Report Posted February 21, 2018 (edited) Floyd is way cool. I went to see that live concert movie (Pompeii? (sp?)) at the North Park. Sober. Still cool as hell. I can't not think of this when I hear that song. Guilty pleasure for me is re-watching Beavis and Butthead clown on music videos. Edited February 22, 2018 by That Aud Smell Quote
Ogre Posted February 22, 2018 Report Posted February 22, 2018 Guilty pleasure for me is re-watching Beavis and Butthead clown on music videos. What is there to feel guilty about? BnB had a nice mix of stupid and smart. Especially the music vid reviews. Without them we would have never had a Daniel Tosh. Quote

I remember being bummed when I ordered a few seasons on DVD, only to find the music video segments had been omitted. Quote
darksabre Posted February 22, 2018 Author Report Posted February 22, 2018 I'm fond of this Dylan cover at the moment Quote

Iron Crotch Posted March 8, 2018 Report Posted March 8, 2018 (edited) You want nothing in return... (the music scene in and around New Orleans is fantastic) Edited March 8, 2018 by Iron Crotch Quote
That Aud Smell Posted March 8, 2018 Report Posted March 8, 2018 ^ Me likey. Consistent with NOLA, their music appears to defy easy categorization. Metal? Funk? Jam band? Nearest things I could think of through 2:00 was Funkadelic with a dash of Floyd and Soundgarden. Oh. Hell yeah. Had to log off at 3:00. Will tune in later. Shifting gears, I have such a Dad-crush on these young ladies from Spain. I've long been a sucker for an all-grrrl rawk band. Quote
inkman Posted March 9, 2018 Report Posted March 9, 2018 I need this to happen. Just a crowd of thousands all bouncing and vibing to a jam like that. Please make this happen. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted March 9, 2018 Report Posted March 9, 2018 That’s from a show in Brazil, right? What a scene. Quote
inkman Posted March 9, 2018 Report Posted March 9, 2018 That’s from a show in Brazil, right? What a scene. Yep. Whenever I'm having a bad day I plop that on the intertubes and instant good mood. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted April 1, 2018 Report Posted April 1, 2018 Oh, yeah. They don't make 'em like that anymore. Loved the late 70s to mid 80s music. Quote
