wjag Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Oh, sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, that started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship The mate was a mighty sailin' man, the skipper brave and sure.. Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour.. a three hour tour... lightning crack The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed, if not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost.. the Minnow would be lost. The ship set ground on a shore of this unhartered desert isle.. With Gilligan.. the Skipper too.. the millionaire and his wife... a movie star.. the professor and Mary Ann.. All on Gilligan's Isle.. I've got plenty more where that came from.. Quote

darksabre Posted October 2, 2009 Author Report Posted October 2, 2009 I'm not sure what you know of Finnish Metal. But check this out. Oh I know Children of Bodom alright, mainly because I had a buddy who was obsessed with them. Honestly, I'm not too into the whole gutteral growling metal, but instrumentally the stuff is good. I'm a big fan of epic metal, unless the lyrics are about dwarfs and enchanted forests n sh*t. also, been stuck in my head because of an inside joke. Quote
FogBat Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 I'm not sure what you know of Finnish Metal. But check this out. Not exactly what I had in mind. I was thinking that they would be as hardcore as . Believe it or not, there are times when I get in the mood to listen to stuff like this in order to wake up. Throw in a little CC to boot as well. Its a rather big adjustment from normal singing. There my favorite band. Quote
SwampD Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 This seems as good a place as any to post this. We just released Echo Chamber, my wife's second album and I'm hoping that some of these songs get stuck in people's heads. This is blatant hawking off my wares. Please remove if inappropriate Quote

SwampD Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 I'd completely forgotten about this thread. I never thought anyone would bump it. And now that it's back I may a well use it. That stupid kesha song is driving me insane. I was going to post this in "that other thread you can post in on certain days but has gone missing for a while" where Ink already posted about this song. Is it me or does she sound just like the voice of Paris Hilton in the South Park episode titled Stupid Spoiled ###### Quote

Stoner Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Not a song, but I can't get the beep beep boop boop boop from "Close Encounters" out of my head. The tin foil hat is not helping. Quote

Stoner Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Great movie. I watched it the other day for the first time since seeing it in the theater in 1977 (or 78). Anyone ever see the director's cut where they show the inside of the mothership? Quote
FogBat Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 I like to think of some Cannibal Corpse (S, R, & S; Coffinfeeder, Make Them Suffer) and Dying Fetus (One Shot, One Kill; Homicidal Retribution) songs while I play World of Warcraft. Quote

inkman Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010  you lost me on that one. What did that have to do with songs we can't get out of our heads? Something about an outwardly Christian individual listening to Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus leaves me a little...well... . Most of my extended family is Christian. Not just your church going types, but your real hardcore, home schooling, Missionaries in foreign countries, not have sex until were married types. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, they have never listened to songs named Coffinfeeder or Homicidal Retribution. Quote

I grew up listening to metal - but not all of it. (Some of it left much to be desired IMO, i.e. Motley Crue, Poison, Bon Jovi.) It's one of those things that I cannot get rid of. At the same time, I don't think it will send me to hell (just like I think that Christians who can't quit smoking don't go to hell either, but that's getting off topic) - even though there are some out there who would vehemently disagree with me. In context, though, what I said is that I listen to that kind of stuff when I play World of Warcraft. Quote
