Eleven Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 I come from the land down under...where woman blow and men plunder wonder what that's in reference to?!? <_< Glow. But you still had a good thought going there. Quote

Claude Balls Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 That's some powerful stuff, IMO, and I'm the guy who likes Steve Reich (above). Kind of reminds me of Collective Soul, but with a little more behind it. Now I have to buy another CD. You'll probably enjoy this one too then, unfortunately it's on an earlier album of theirs. Remember the days when everyone held up their lighters? Now it's freaking cell phones  If I ever had a singer in any of my bands like this I might still be playing. Quote

Really powerful singers are definitely hard to come across. The best live signing performance I've ever heard was Disturbed, man does that guy have some pipes on him. Youtube videos just don't do it justice. Quote
Guest Sloth Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 I can't believe I'm saying this, but does anyone miss 90's rock? Man, I'm starting to feel old. I miss the old Goo. Sure, I'm still a fan of them, but I wish they'd go back to "A Boy Named Goo" style of music. "Name" changed the group completely, and it paved the road to "Dizzy Up the Girl." Quote
wonderbread Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 That stupid effen song "walking in memphis" The girl at work plays the local light radio station Bob or Jack or some #%^$#! and they play that song everyday. Quote

No one misses 90s rock unless they're a little too happy that day and need to take it down a notch. Wow, what a depressing decade of music. I'm not old enough to remember it the first time around, but when it comes to rock, it's 70s FTW. (Rock. Not disco.) Quote

I am a child of 90's rock, so for me there is nothing better. I swear to god there is no alt rock song from the 90s that I don't know, I think I've literally heard it all. This is the first song I can remember hearing on the radio in the 90s. I was 8 (I know right?) and it was all down hill for me from there. B-) About 4 years ago I went on a search to rediscover a lot of 90s music that I remembered but had no idea who did it or what it was. It was quite an adventure. A couple gems including: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5Cf5OusjrQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2EE511FWsQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0pm0hNbYqo Quote

I'm a little older but still like a lot of that music. The whole time I kept saying,"where's that Spacehog tune?"...and there it was. EDIT:I found the comment from the One More Astronaut chat kinda funny,"Canada! Thats a dirty of the commonwealth isnt it? " That's just funny. 1 Quote

darksabre Posted May 12, 2009 Author Report Posted May 12, 2009 I thought I heard somewhere that spacehog was getting back together. Not sure that means anything though... I think I also heard this. Wiki confirms that they might be working on an album. It was rumored for a while that the singer of Spacehog was going to be the new Velvet Revolver lead man, but that has been denied by VR. Quote
