Doohicksie
Today I learned Jack White was in the Raconteurs. Seems obvious now but I never realized it.

freester
I just saw Airborne Toxic Event in concert for the 3rd time. They are the greatest band you’ve never heard of. They are on tour now. Highly recommended.

Doohicksie
There is a genre of music, in my mind anyway, that consists of songs I totally never heard when they came out, but became familiar with them from dive bars. They generally sound garage-band-ish in style, but "tighter" than that musically. They include bands such as The Raconteurs (Steady as She Goes, Level) Franz Fedinand (Take Me Out) Portugal the Man (I Feel It Still) Jet (Are You Gonna Be My Girl) Violent Femmes (Blister in the Sun) There are others but that's a representative sample to try to capture the sound. I will say that Jack White is a guitar riff master.

It really was, but I always felt it was a little too polished for the band they were. The piano ballad and their attempt at a "Every Rose Has A Thorn" type song was a bit hard to stomach, but I get what they (or their producer) were trying to do. I never got to see them but I appreciated that MC5 vibe they brought. Another garage shredder from that era I just got into last year is Ty Segall. He has some great songs and did the best cover of Lowrider I've ever heard. Edited April 22, 2022 by SHAAAUGHT!!!

The lyrics are really thought provoking.

Sabres Fan in NS
First Punk Rock single. Released in 1976. The best Damned lineup, IMO. Brian James (guitar) with Captain Sensible on bass, Rat Scabbies on drums and Dracula Dave singing.

SwampD
A friend of mine was working on this dance tune. He asked me to write a bass part for it. Not exactly my wheelhouse but it was fun,… and he asked me to do another.🤟🏻👍🏻😀
