Myers and Kelowna

The Kelowna Rockets now lead the previously unbeaten (in the playoffs) Calgary Hitmen 3-0 in the WHL finals. Myers has 1G, 4A, 5P and is a +5 in the 3 games. For the entire playoffs, he has 5G, 14A, 19P and is a +14 in 19 games.

 

Unfortunately, he's also sporting a porn stache:

Didn't realize they were up 3-0. Calgary was massive favorites to win the WHL title. Good job Myers, those stats are crazy good. He does look like a fool tho, but if he looks like that and dominates here, i'm all for it. Anyways, if they win they move to the Memorial Cup which i'm 99% sure is telecast live on the NHL network.

While his 'stache is awesomely sweet, I noticed that even his face looks like its filling out. The fact that he's adding muscle (now 220 I believe), and now up to 6'8 makes me extremely excited about what he can be... maybe even next year.

Myers is a very big kid, but he's not mean by nature. He luckily avoided suspension in the final game against Vancouver when he hit a guy who turned his back at the last second. The guy was split up pretty bad.

 

I work tonight, otherwise I may have tried to go to the game. I'll listen to it at work and catch the last bit when I get home. Hopefully they can pull of the win. Sweeping Calgary, who were 12-0 in the playoffs before meeting Kelowna, would be sweet.

PS I too think he makes the Sabres next year. The culture of the team, the identity needs to change so I believe he's a part of it. And the stache isn't his regular look. It's a very weak playoff stache.

Wow, somebody gave Calgary a wakeup call. They won game 5 tonight by a score of 6-1. They outshot Kalowna 50-19! Myers got a 10-minute misconduct near the end, but it doesn't say what for.

I'll report on his play next year when they are in town to play the Portland Winter Hawks.
