Will the Bills move up? Down? Who will they take? NFL.com coverage WGR reactions I have say this about the Bills. They don't go off-script for even a second. The 2009 NFL Draft for the Bills was as boring and uninspiring as the team itself. The Bills seem as intent to collect undersized speedy defensive ends as much as the Sabres like to collect forwards under 5' 10". There is nothing surprising about the Bills throwing away the 11th overall pick on a third down specialist with barely any football resume to speak off. You would think the Bills would have some sense of urgency considering they are facing 10 years without the playoffs. You would think a team mired in mediocrity would have drafting possible starters as priority #1. Instead they spend the draft picking players they plan to use in positions other than the position the kids played in college. Does anyone have faith that the Bills can coach these players up for successful conversions? I don't.

Yeah, I'm really "surprised" (about as much as when the Sabres reached into the early second round predictions with their late first round pick to get 5'9" Tyler Ennis) that they didn't take Orakpo instead Maybin. Orakpo is a beast and is much more likely to have an immediate impact. Maybin may surprise everyone, but that is because there is little to evaluate him on; he is relatively unproven. At least he has gotten bigger, though still not "big" by most standards.

You would think after trading away their pro-bowl left tackle, they might have at least picked up a tackle in the draft. Oh wait, they did, except they're going to use him as a guard. It seems like half the guys they drafted are destined to play a different position that what they played in college.
deluca67 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 The scariest thing about the draft is they drafted like a team rebuilding. Could that mean that Coach like a Dick Jouron will be here in 2010?
