Thinking today about the great weekend ahead and really missing my Camaro.

What kind of cars have you guys (and gals) had that you remember the good times in?

My best was smoking the tires in the UB parking lot, then slowing down as I passed a bunch of guys cheering, only for their jaws to drop when they saw me behind the wheel.

Had one of these , back in the day

The above a model of a 1959 Chevy Impala with continental on back. Remember driving the baseball team around getting super duper ice creams after games , french fries from the fat lady, and frosty A&W rootbeers.

You're killing me Whitey! You're killing me!

Currently have a 2007 White Saturn Sky Redline and a 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT. Love them both but the sky is more fun to drive and not quite as flashy... i've tried to stay lower key in my mid-20's haha.

I am 45 years old and have had a lot of cars. My husband has had a lot of cars. Some of his went over 300mph in the quarter mile. I hated those cars. He loved them. Got scared told him to quit. He did. We're still married, can you believe it?

My absolute favorite car wasn't a car at all. I had a gas-guzzling, army green, go-anywhere, mow down anything V-10 Ford Excursion that I loved loved loved. We gave it away over a year ago when gas prices went up and I miss that ride everyday. We could live in that thing, and with kids and all their activities and running a business, sometimes we did! I drove everywhere and I could bring the whole neighborhood. I was the go-to mom for car pool. We even drove that baby back home to Ohio in a nasty SNOWSTORM after catching a game at HSBC. Left at 10pm-ish...got home at 2:30ish...kids made it to school the next day. It was great in bad weather.

Sigh.

The WRX has been fantastic: Fun, practical, and coming up on 150K miles with no breakdowns, just regular maintenance (Knock on wood). The Beemer is far less practical but I managed to rack up 10K on it last year traveling and commuting to work. Makes the commute much more enjoyable.

I get to ride around in these fancy Boston subway trains. The older one's really suck and the new one's aren't all that much better. One time I rode one that had all of the fabric on the seats re-done. Now that was a sweet ride!

Since I sold my bike several years back I get my kicks in my 1987 5.0L 5 speed mustang GT. Mostly original incl interior and paint except I have tweaked it over the years for higher horse power and suspension for better handling. Best time in 1/4 mile so far a 13.8.

My favorite was my 1967 Camaro convertible. Had that in my late teens, early 20's. A real piece of work that only cost me $700.

Best time in that car (there were MANY) was going to see the Motley Crue concert at the Aud in like 1985. Had 5 people in the car going down the 33 headed back home, three standing up in back, two of them holding the speakers in the air while we cranked the Shout at the Devil cassette (yeah, I said CA-Set).

Good times man good times.

1987 Jeep YJ (Wrangler to most Americans)

Crappy 4.2L carb'd motor that doen't want to stop stalling out (common problem with those motors). I am currently putting it on 35" tires and looking for a powerplant swap

30th anniversary 'Stang GT ragtop. Bright blue w/ black top and gray leather. V8.

And it literally is the summer ride. That horsey sits in the barn aaaaaall winter long. (Although when I was younger, it was required to ride w/ top down at least once a month.)
