Cereal Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 3rd period of VAN@CHI was very entertaining hockey... 3-3 going into it.... ending at 7-5 CHI. VERY glad Caps won... I was watching in a room with both Caps and Pens fans, but I had to admit, Sid's goal to tie it 4-4 was freaking awesome. Let's go B's and Wings tomorrow! Two comments: I don't want to watch the Canes anymore I don't want to listen the extremely stupid Steigerwald and Bob Errey anymore. Anyone in the Pittsburgh area knows what I mean. I know it sounds foolish but I have to say I miss VS
cdexchange Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 That crowd was so loud in CHI when the 'Hawks scored those two late goals 30 seconds apart. I got shivers watching that  Congrats to them for reaching the WCF. And I'm so pumped to watch game 7 on Wednesday. Man, these playoffs have been awesome!
Claude_Verret Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 I wish we had a cool celebration song like the Hawks do! Great game for Pat Kane, the Hawks are this year's 05-06 Sabres. I hope not. If they are then their D-men are going to start dropping like flies.
Claude_Verret Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 So what is everyone's feeling on the Walker punch on Ward? Needless to say here in Canes land they are downplaying it. Given the NHL's history I'm not surprised that he wasn't given a suspension and I'm not even sure that he deserved one, but that was indeed a sucker punch no matter how you slice it. Don't try telling that to a Canes fan though. I really can't believe I'm saying this, but please win tonight Boston! http://www.wralsportsfan.com/hurricanes/blogpost/5126937/
rickshaw Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Luongo stunk last night. Unfortunately, so did the officials. Hate to blame the refs but in the 3rd period Kesler was sent to the bench bleeding, no call. Dustin B slashed Luongo across the helmet, accidentally on purpose, no call. Then with 6 plus mins left, O'Brien got tagged for a hook, when his one hand on the stick got caught up in the belly for a split second. Nobody saw it except the one ref. A non significant play that changed the game. Now, it's not their fault, but if you're gonna let stuff go, bloodying players, don't call ticky tack shite. It's the thing that annoys me more than anything. Luongo didn't have the stuff and the Hawks made them pay. Too bad, but life goes on.

But what happened to the new "playoff rule" that violence in the last few minutes of an already-decided game results in an automatic suspension? This would have been the right time for the NHL to show it is serious. I've seen Boston victimized late in the game in two series, now.

stenbaro Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 I was surprised that the CBC announcers seemed to think the hooking call was a good call. On the topic of penalties..Here is my favorite non call in the history of Sports"Sarcasm Off"..See if you can find the INTERFERENCE!!!!! I wish Wheres Waldo was this easy ..Too bad our World Wrestling Hockey League Referees cant interpet the rules coorectly

Agreed, to the casual fan who doesn't watch hockey all the time this really does make this sport look like Stenbaro opines "..Too bad our World Wrestling Hockey League Referees cant interpet the rules coorectly" .... Other than that we have been really treated to some great Hockey....
darksabre Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 I hope not. If they are then their D-men are going to start dropping like flies. I'm pulling for em, so it'll probably happen. :bag:
Claude_Verret Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Aaron Ward not happy with no suspension ruling I liked this part.... Ward accused the Hurricanes of putting "spin" on the discussions with the NHL. "I know Jimmy (Rutherford) is a staunch Republican, but I didn't know he would bring Karl Rove in," he joked.
SwampD Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Aaron Ward not happy with no suspension ruling I liked this part.... This part is even funnier The Canes said late Tuesday afternoon that some tickets remain available for the contest.

It's the thing that annoys me more than anything. Luongo didn't have the stuff and the Hawks made them pay. Too bad, but life goes on. Weak. Byfuglien hit on Luongo was accidental. Nobody saw it. He was nailed by a Canucks player and he lost control of his stick because Luongo was on the ground as well. If you think Byfuglien did that on purpose, then you're crazy. O'Brien hooking call was the right call. Chicago had 6 PIM in the 3rd period, Vancouver had 4. And if anyone is to rush into a bad call, the Brouwer goalie interference was pretty bad as well. He was pushed by a Canuck into Luongo. I didn't think that was a penalty. They did miss a few things, that is for sure, but they missed them for both teams. And both teams had fair oppertunities to win the game. Difference was, Chicago attacked, and Vancouver played too much defensive hockey for too long in the series and it bit them in the arse.
Claude_Verret Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 This part is even funnier I missed that, but I guess I'm just used to it. Not selling out playoff games is par for the course in 'Caniac' country.
Two or less Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 I missed that, but I guess I'm just used to it. Not selling out playoff games is par for the course in 'Caniac' country. Is there a nascar race tonight or something?
darksabre Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 This part is even funnier I like how they say "some" as if to imply that there aren't that many seats left.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 I like how they say "some" as if to imply that there aren't that many seats left. With a major accident leading to the RBC I bet the place will be half full for first period. A bunch of people picked up their tickets earlier today and implied many good seats still available. Go Boston!!!!

Musta been them Duke boys!
Eleven Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 Shoot, is the bridge out on the ol' main road inta the city? Musta been them Duke boys! Nah, they took care of them Duke boys with that lacrosse case a few years back.
Two or less Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Ladies and gentleman, we have another 7th game on our hands. Hurricanes and Bruins headed back to Boston.
darksabre Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Nah, they took care of them Duke boys with that lacrosse case a few years back. :w00t: So wrong but so right!
cdexchange Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Wow, three game 7's in two days. Glorious!
Two or less Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Some questions for tonights game 7.... Washington or Pittsburgh? How many points does Ovechkin score tonight? If Pitt wins, who scores the game winner? Malkin, Crosby or other?
darksabre Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 I just saw a guy in the crowd at the caps game wearing an old Sabres home white jersey. SDS is that youuu???
