WOW. You know what, if you (I don't mean you, spndnchz, necessarily) ever think about reaching that level, please do it on another board.

We're looking at you, SDS; you're always near that line.

no offense but that's by far the most retarded "news" story I've ever read. I've said (and read, for that matter) FAR, FAR, FAR worse on online message boards. Obviously, in the context the kid posted the message, it wasn't a legitimate threat. It was just a fan getting excited about the sport. The fact that A.) the police took this threat seriously and B.) it was considered news-worthy just makes me wonder what's wrong with people these days.

back n topic though, this has been a crazy series. go caps!

I didn't think Ovechkin should have gotten a penalty for that. He was trying to hit the guy and Gonchar tried avoiding his hit and they hit knee on knee by accident.

I don't know about that. Ovechkin is a good enough player if he wanted to avoid it he would. Interesting how these things happen and people (I don't mean you in particular) think the star players would never do that. Remember Ovechkin was the guy who checked Briere from behind into the Sabres open door a couple of years ago. He has a habit of jumping when he hits and is involved in a lot of plays which can go both ways. Guaranteed if some third line winger does that to Crosby or Ovechkin, the league and the rest of his teammates would come down hard.

Well, I thought it was a pretty dirty play and actually would be OK with a 1-game suspension.

I've seen the Penguins tie up a Game 6, late in the third, in the quarterfinals (aka conference semis) once before, right?

F*ck.

The NHL couldn't be happier. Game 7 of the Crosby-Ovechkin faceoff. The only way that could have been better is if OV's laser in OT had gone in (was stopped on a very nice glove save by Fleury.)

I was heavily criticized a couple of years ago on this board for saying that Luongo wasn't that much better than Biron--I think it was in the context of a salary discussion or something.

I probably will be criticized again, but seven goals so far in an elimination game? Luongo is not that much better than Biron. I guess I'll believe differently when the guy actually does something in the NHL.

The Blackhawks make me tingly inside.

I think if there were a team's bandwagon I would jump on, the Hawks would be it.

Man after watching Chicago wealth of young talent I might not even mind 2-3 more years of completely abysmal hockey.

Sharp, Kane, Toews, Seabrook, Byfuglin. Just to name a few.

This team is gonna be loaded for a few years to come. All they need now is an elite goaltender.

I'm honestly shocked Khabibulin won the goaltender battle against Luongo. If Detroit manages to win their series tomorrow, I'm not sure Khabibulin will be able to cut it against Osgood.

I would rather see Khabibulin vs. Hiller though, a battle of young versus old.

I wish we had a cool celebration song like the Hawks do!

Great game for Pat Kane, the Hawks are this year's 05-06 Sabres.

lol dude, it's one thing to cheer for a team, but man, how much more man love will you be giving the Blackhawks? I mean, sure, theres a lot to be jealous for, but, the damn celebration song? LOL come on man. You're better then that.

It wasn't long ago when the Blackhawks weren't even shown on local tv in Chicago. They deserve their ride right now, and it's good for hockey, and a Detroit/Chicago Western conference finals should be great for the league.

Pittsburgh/Washington series is amazing though. It's tough for the NHL because they are the true winners so far with the coverage and ratings that series has gotten from the national media and from fans all over, but, they will be the losers on Wednesday night because it will be the end of either of those teams. If i were the NHL i'd somehow, someway, try to work a deal to move that game to NBC. I know it won't happen, but there is no reason why a game like that isn't on local television. I think versus does a good job with their coverage, but just not that many people receive it.

And Patrick Kane's hat trick was awesome.

Will Hiller even be playing if the Ducks advance? I heard Ducks may go back to Giggy for tomorrow night's game. I didn't see anything to confirm it though, so just a rumor for now.

Osgood was 44th in SV% (.887) and 40th in GAA (3.09) this season. Sure, he's played well in the playoffs, but he's certainly not in his prime anymore.

Why is it a negative that I like their celebration song? It's catchy. Other teams have celebration songs too like the Rags and I envy that. Hell, even Carolina has their stupid Ric Flair thing. As a college hockey fan, it's little things like that which draw the fans into the game even more. Just look at Bandits games with the cheers and crowd interaction. There is something to be said for that. I get much more enjoyment from a $8 college hockey game than any Sabres game I've ever been too.

I will continue giving the Hawks as much "man love" as I want, because right now, they are everything I wish the Sabres were.
