Claude_Verret Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Well the game is essentially meaningless from our end, but I feel it's still important for Sabres fans to be well represented at this game. The Canes bandwagon fan base is once again swelling with team swappers as the Canes have been one of the hottest teams in the league running up to the playoffs. Also, the Sabres can still help spoil the Canes home ice advantage aspirations and it will be good to let them know that Sabres fans do stick with our team even when they suck. We will always be around to "rape and pillage" the countryside no matter what the standings are. Here's to hoping the Canes have blown their proverbial load in the stretch run and that they join the Sabres on the golf course in very short order! Let's Go Buffalo....

I want to Puke with all the talk about Carolina, Canes and Heels. Unfortunately I will not be able to make the pillaging. Hopefully they are blowing off all the steam and go into the playoffs like the team of earlier this year. One thing for sure it will be loud in the RBC fiirst because Sabres are in town and as Canes say they are getting their playoff voices. As they say at NC State GO TO HELL CAROLINA :censored: :censored:
Realist Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Not going to make this game. I can't stomach the thought of Canes fans rubbing our faces in it that they are going to the palyoffs and we're at home again. As much as I hate the Hurricanes, you have to admire how they busted their to get back in the playoffs and even have a shot at home ice the first series. They were back in 10th place while the Sabres were flirting with 5th. I wish the Sabres would have worked like that.
Claude_Verret Posted April 8, 2009 Author Report Posted April 8, 2009 Not going to make this game. I can't stomach the thought of Canes fans rubbing our faces in it that they are going to the palyoffs and we're at home again. I was thinking the same way last week, but then I found out most of the Buffalo fans I know from the area were still going and tailgating just like always. It got me thinking that it's always kind of a badge of honor for us long suffering Buffalo sports fans to stick with our teams through thick and thin, but it's equally admirable just to NOT be a fuggin Canes fan around here when everyone else is deciding to become one again. So I bought my ticket knowing full well this will be a meaningless game. As much as I hate the Hurricanes, you have to admire how they busted their to get back in the playoffs and even have a shot at home ice the first series. They were back in 10th place while the Sabres were flirting with 5th. I wish the Sabres would have worked like that. You're right. With the way they have played they certainly deserve to be where they are, just as the Sabres play puts them right where they belong. I have never had much of a problem with the Canes team on the ice outside of some issues during the '06 series (Laviolette's general douchebaggery and Rod B's classless behavior after game seven come to mind). It's their fuggin clueless "fans" and low class game day staff that have me wishing for their quick demise.
InRodWeTrust Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Come out early to tailgate. Looks like great weather and the Hurricanes have some bands lined up to play outside the arena before the game.
