This is our Alamo game. The pessimists here will state that we will lose this game and it will be all over. The optimists still believe that 3-0 plus some help by Easter will get us in the playoffs. The realists, like me, believe that we can probably overcome and win this game and extend things at least another 24 hours. Just don't let this end on Toronto's terms, please! LETS GO BUFFALO!

Tim Connolly, Clarke MacArthur and Craig Rivet absent from the skate. Ruff says only Rivet is a maybe. Dr's looking at all of them.

The Dr. should have been looking at them from the beginning of the year.

Booooooooooooooooooo Sabres!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After paying money for the Detroit game and having to sit through that uninspiring, heartless effort made me sick to my stomach. Lose all you want but don't mail it in at home!! Again I say Booooo

I noticed Toronto had no probs beating NJ last night either, so without watching the game itself, I'm going to just boldly assume the Leafs didn't wait until the third to start playing?

God, these heartless efforts make me want to puke.

I got a nasty feeling the Leafs are gonna come out hard tonight, and as always our guys will be standing around wondering how that can be, since they should be tired from playing last night, and this should be an easy game.

So in other words, Rivet will play banged up, MacArthur maybe, and Connolly will be back around new years?

Must Win!

Notice, no quotation marks or "all but" or "practically" or "might as well be" now; finally, this game really is a must win. Rangers won last night, so the Sabres can't drop any points in their last three and the Flyers have to sweep the Rangers (plus, another Florida regulation loss or two OT losses) for the Sabres to stay in it.

egh, I'll probably watch it unless my teacher emails me our take home mid-term before it starts.

I'm not expecting anything great though.

Take home mid-terms? Wow RIT sure has changed a lot over time.

I'm a Criminal Justice major, so it doesn't really count. I bailed on Mechanical Engineering and haven't looked back. For a technical college I was less than impressed with the quality of staff and program in the engineering college.

We talked the teacher into a take home mid term because in honesty he hasn't #%^$#!ing taught us anything yet this quarter. Dude gives us #%^$#! for not reading but half the time decides to let us go early because "he doesn't feel like giving the lecture". At least with a take home exam we can figure out what we were supposed to be learning.

Wow. You are not the first one to say something like this. I have a friend who is the chief engineer at one of the local firms on the west side of ROC. One day back in the mid 90's (when I was going to college there), I didn't see him on campus that day, but he made a personal visit to the co-op and placement coordinator for the College of Engineering and made it pointedly clear that they were producing lackluster students who knew almost next to nothing when it came to basic engineering skills - whether it be for seasonal co-ops or permanent employment. Granted, I'm not an engineer by trade, but I've known him for the past 15 years and I trust his judgment on matters like this.

just referring back to the boos and how a bridal gown might be a good uni for our boys

I'm getting some images in my head that are not worth repeating here.

You realize that Detroit might be the best team in hockey, and that the Sabres played their a**es off right? Oh, I forgot, whenever they lose it was because they weren't trying hard enough. Heck, we had just as many shots on goal as they did, which almost nobody does against Detroit. As long as they try next year, they'll win all 82 games easily!

It is my belief that RIT's standards are not what they once were. For as bad as I was at engineering, there is no way, NO WAY, I should have lasted as long in engineering as I did. I should have failed out after my freshman year. And then when I finally went on co-op, they wouldn't even let me do simple things like operate a lathe, because frankly I didn't remember how. In three years of engineering at RIT I used a lathe and a mill for one class. And it was my first quarter of my freshman year. Everything after that was completely worthless, and so were the teachers "attempting" to teach us. Half of my teachers were adjuncts who had full time jobs and no office hours. And they also had no idea how to teach. My insufficiency in engineering was completely masked by the fact that a majority of my classmates struggled equally as much, but for different reasons than myself.

RIT's retention rate in engineering is not bad because their programs are difficult. The retention rates are bad because the programs and teaching staff are of unacceptable quality.
