Even if we don't make it to the playoffs. At least we're getting the playoff experience now, 'cuz this sure feel like playoff hockey to me.

 

 

 

At least the knot in my stomach all day does.

Thanks to Dish network putting Versus in only their most expensive packages, I will be listening in on the internet tonight.

 

As said earlier, it can't end on a monday. Buffalo finally defeats the curse of Ty Conklin 4-3 in OT.

I hope somebody tells the guys. I think it's pretty sad at this point in the season that they have to have their goalie benched in the 3rd to wake them up. Hopefully they come out strong tonight.

Switch to Directv its worth it. That or you could make the 3 hour drive across 76 and stop by my place in the burgh'.

It's hard for me to imagine why this score would come to mind regarding this team. Stick a fork in 'em.

Because with these guys, the season will probably come to a crashing halt against a team like Toronto instead of Detroit.

Miller has got to be huge tonight. The Sabres have to win out and they are not going to do that by packing it in and playing defense. They need to be responsible on defense but they have to score some goals...at least 4. I thought against NJ, the Sabres were way too passive early. They need to push it early tonight. It's not just another game. I hope they play with some passion for 3 periods. They can't rely on winning a low scoring game or in a shootout.

I'll have it on, but there's no way I'm getting sucked in again after that pile if garbage we were treated to for the first 40 mins the other night.

 

I still can't wrap my head around how you can play with fire for 2-3 games straight, then come out and mail it in like that, when games only get more and more important down the stretch.

 

And I know this sounds completely out there, but what really pisses me off to no end, is how they come out and play the 3rd, cause again it shows they CAN play when they're not too busy fixing their hair.

Meh, the Devils were sitting back and relaxing with their 3-0 lead. That made Buffalo look better than normal in the 3rd.

Not only Miller, the defense has to be huge, and stay away from critical mistakes....one game at a time...win tonight and let's assess from there.

 

The biggest thing I would tell my team is this: Ensure that NOBODY outworks us, under any circumstance. And let the chips fall from there.

 

If the Sabres do win out, they WILL get in; highly doubtful but you never know

I'll be there tonight and on Saturday. Anybody who had a faint glimmer of hope, still feel that way? :blush:

 

My wife thinks I'm bi-polar, but I still hold out hope. I'm counting on a four game winning streak and two game winning goals from Briere taking out both the Rangers and Florida if for no other reason then pissing off DeLuca. Of course it will probably start a whole Danny hates Drury thread if he helps knock out the Rangers.

Ok, here it is. The straight goods.

 

We have to win all 4 of our games. If Miller can pitch 4 shutouts we are in because the Rangers and Florida will lose at least one game. It's really up to Miller!

I have a very hard time seeing the Sabres beating Detroit. Detroit's D is so good at getting the puck out of the defensive zone that it requires huge, consistent desperation on the forecheck just to generate shots on goal. The Sabres just don't bring it like that. And while we may play decently on D for a while, Detroit (like Philly) is deep and talented enough offensively to capitalize on a high percentage of their scoring chances.

 

It's hard to see the Sabres getting more than 22 shots on goal and more than 2 goals. So if Miller has a GREAT game, the Sabres can win, but if not, it ain't happening.

 

Holy cow I hope I'm wrong, because I do think the Rangers are going to give us another chance.
