The Sabres did everything in their power to lose the game tonight, but give them credit, they held the fort down in the third period and got that critical goal by Goose to clinch the game. Good win. But tomorrow is even more important than tonight. Absolutely must win tomorrow against Montreal if they even want to think about closing the gap and making a run to the playoffs in the last 9 games. The third jerseys prevail, and seriously, these should become the permanent home jerseys. Good effort from the Hecht-Gaustad-Kaleta line. I think we've found a checking line to play against top lines and this is it. I liked Paille and Connolly's play tonight. Good game and good win for Miller in his first game back from injury. Need to win tomorrow though.

Interesting stats: 11-3-0 in third jerseys 2-0-0 in slug jerseys, but with third logos on helmets* 9-10-3 with slug on jersey and helmet (@ home) * in addition to this past Panthers games, they had them on the helmets in the only win that we had against Ottawa on January 6th. Note: if anyone noticed the third logos on the helmets with the slug jerseys in any other game, let me know and I'll update the stats.

Two game winning streak.. How long has it been since we were able to say that. Team is healthy.. Still need a huge number of breaks to go along with a long winning sreak.. On to Montreal.. You forgot that Moore's assist was his 100th career NHL point (45 of which have come this season.) But, yeah, beat Montreal to make it all worth while.
