carpandean Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/2009/0...ack-on-ice.html Goalie Mikael Tellqvist said Ruff told him before practice that he is starting Wednesday against the Florida Panthers. This is a good move as it gives the team its best chance to win. Tellqvist has played well in his few relief appearances, won more than half his games with a bad Coyotes team before the Sabres got him and Patrick Lalime has struggled in recent starts. I'm guessing that this is, say, 90% likely to happen with the other 10% being the off chance that Miller actually feels good enough tomorrow to go.
spndnchz Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I doubt Miller starts against Florida, maybe the back-up? What's Miller got to be thinking right now, eh? If I was him I'd be f*&^ing pissed right now "I get hurt and can't play and the whole thing goes to sh't" "Now we've got no playoffs and I worked my ars off all year, for what?"

Ryan is one of the "core" who has to take a good long look in the mirror about the team's playoff predicament right now. He wasn't very good for most of the first half of the season.
rickshaw Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Telqvist will be solid on Wed night. I doubt Lalime sees the ice again this year.
bottlecap Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Chalk one up...a good goaltending decision from up top.

Barnabov Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Telqvist will be solid on Wed night. I doubt Lalime sees the ice again this year. So what if anything does this mean for Lalime's future? Doesn't seem like it makes a lot of sense to play a guy who's only going to be with the team 10 more games and then is expected to sign elsewhere as a UFA. Lalime by nature of his 2 year deal is pretty much guaranteed to remain next year so you'd think they'd be trying to get him going and the team confident playing in front of him. Even Brodeur can't play 82 games a season so Buffalo needs a backup who can at least get the team to play .500 hockey. All in all, I'm confused

All in all, I'm confused Stafford, MacArthur, Peters, Moore, Kaleta, Mancari, Spacek, Teppo, Sekera will all be with the Sabres for 10 more games too, all UFA's. LaLime's tired IMO. He'll probably play Sat vs. Montreal unless Telly (not this Telly) or this Telly.. stands on his head tonight. He's also played 12 games with Miller out and 24 this year, plus who knows how many practices. How many games do want for the team to be comfortble with him? A goalie can't "get" the team to play .500 hockey, the team does that. Sure a goalie can steal a game, but not 82 of them.
