ThePebble19 Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Just another goal that should not have been let by. Ugh.

SabreInFla Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Lalime SUCKS, Miller stay in rehab dont bother trying to come back for this set of players. They better shelf Miller for the season............this is a disaster.
wjag Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Butler gets one at the buzzer Buffalo: :worthy: :worthy: :worthy: :worthy: Flyers: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:
ThePebble19 Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Anyone else think that Kaleta should be captain of this team? He doesn't score a lot of goals, but draws a ton of penalties, and seems to be a guy that can just fire his guys up. Not that anything can fire this team of slackers up, but he seems like that kind of guy.
Chief Enabler Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Great GOAL by Butler Congrats on his first!
pukincrozier Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Lalime SUCKS, Miller stay in rehab dont bother trying to come back for this set of players. What a sorry state of affairs for Sabres Fans--Harry needs to shut the hell up and just let Rick Degenerate have the whole show. Ownership is really gotta do some soul searching to get outta this funk--This team is in a complete meltdown-- Rivet sucks big time and aliens must've invaded Pominville--I'd like to blame Lalime and he's tried, but he should probably be with the Roanoke Express (oh wait, they don't play anymore)---God I wish I could into the NBA, cause this is painful.
Eric in Akron Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 I know the Sabres are still in the playoff hunt mathematically but realistically they aren't. So why do they have to bring up that they are still in the hunt? I mean come on, do you really think your generating any passion from the fans? Do you really think that this rendition of the team has the miracle in them to make it? It's not like they are hitting on a hot streak and have dug themselves out of the cellar, this is team that started the season hot, played good enough in January, but has since decided playing hockey is not in their best interest. Ugh.
ThePebble19 Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Pominville: "...I think eveyone wants to be the hero..." What? Judging by the amount of players holding the puck looking for the pass and not shooting, I'd say noone wants to be the hero. "Why can't you guys hold a lead?" Pominville: "Uhh...I don't know, I guess if we knew we would do it better." Yep. That about sums it up.
Hawerchuk Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 FU Don Van Massenhoven you Fu#$in' pile of dogcrap. HORRIBLE CALLS TONIGHT. FU!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kaleta knee penalty was BS. 1st Briere goal was offsides. Gdamn high stick goal and they give it to Knuble. FU YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I was a fan, i swear I'd throw a beer right at masenhoven's head that dick. I'd get arrested and wouldn't care. Horrible calls tonight. The Sabres are at fault here too for some sloppy D and 2 on 1's but that was absolutely downright F#$##^&$ crap!! I hope they whip the piss outta the Rangers tomorrow night!
jimiVbaby Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 So does the ignore button work with new, worthless topics along with posts?
Eleven Posted March 21, 2009 Author Report Posted March 21, 2009 There already is a thread about this game.
SabresFan526 Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Again, this game was not lost in third period. It was lost in the second period when they let the Flyers back in the game on the two Briere goals. Neither one of them should have happened. First, Briere was offsides, and that should have been called. But let's forget about that. How is he standing in front of Lalime with not a soul nearby him so that he can get a bounce hop goal? Where was Lydman? Why wasn't anyone nearby Briere to put a hit on him or check him? Then, the on the second goal, you can clearly see Roy and Hecht let up and not skate back into the defensive zone. They just gave up on the play. Also, I think Stafford probably played the wrong guy on the backcheck causing some confusion between him and Spacek, but how are Roy and Hecht not coming back on the backcheck? Yes, Knuble's goal should not have counted as he clearly hit that in with a high stick. But none of that matters. The Sabres lost tonight in the second period when they gave up those two goals to Briere. By the way, does anyone know if Sekera was hurt or if he got benched? I noticed he was not on the ice at all in the third period and they could have used him on the rush. I'm really beginning to question why I got Center Ice this year again. The last two years when I've had Center Ice, I've had to put up with watching this nonsense. Maybe I need to go back to how I was before I had DirecTV and before hockey was on the Internet as a die hard Sabres fan who rarely got the opportunity to watch their games. I really don't know what else to do because the two seasons prior to my having Center Ice, they were a really good and dominant team. I'm just so frustrated right now.

jimiVbaby Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 I didn't read this thread at all so keep that in mind. I really find it hard to hate the Flyers this year. It's exactly what a team should be built like. Scoring - Briere/Gagne Young Snipers - Carter/Lupul/Giroux Grinders and Guts- Carcillo/Asham Heart and Skill- Richards/Hartnell Solid Defensively with good mix of players. The only thing that's missing is the goaltending and I'm still envious.
PromoTheRobot Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 I forgot they had a game tonight. Looks like I didn't miss anything. By the way, while we debate who's to blame more: Ruff, Regier, or the players, how about pinning the blame on the guy who really deserves it....Larry FRIIIGGGGIINNN' Quinn! I guess when you keep getting rid of players from a cup contending team, eventually you get to the tipping point where you turn it into a piece of dog crap. This abortion is of his own making. PTR
LabattBlue Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Game thoughts... -I was at the game and the best part of the night was watching Mike Richards. I said this a couple of weeks back, I would trade any Sabre and then some to have Mike Richards on my team. -I know Philly went into a shell but what a pitiful effort by the Sabres after Philly made it 5-3. Where was the DESPERATION? -Hey Quinny still wish you didn't kick Briere to the curb while you were obsessing over Drury? Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. -Stafford is right back to where he was to start the season. -Gaustad with another useless game. -Lindy can go for all I care. Sending out Ellis for multiple shifts when your team is down by two goals with less than 10 minutes to go in the game. Seriously? -Lalime with a weak effort. -Pitiful special teams tonight...PITIFUL! -The standings say the Sabres are still in it...I say stick a fork in them, they are done.

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Funny thing is that with the cap going where it is, if I were the Flyers' GM, I'd give my left nut to get someone to take Briere's contract off of my books. He's good, but they don't need him. They've got better, younger, bigger players on offense making much less. Take some of his money and put it toward goaltending and possibly some upgrades on defense, then you've got a team that I would love to have. When the cap goes way down in 2010-11, they will have to let some good players go if they can't find a buyer for Briere. But yeah, as much as it pains me to say it, they are a well built team, especially up front. In fact, tonight, I thought the Sabres gave a solid effort but were beaten by the better team, again. It sucks, but that doesn't frustrate me nearly as much of all the games where they've lost to teams that I don't believe are better than they are. Like tomorrow, I am not convinced that the Rangers are the better team. If they can avoid getting sucked into chasing Avery, I believe that they can win. They probably won't, blaming it on the back-to-back, which will frustrate me even more. They shouldn't be in the position where the hard games like tonight are must wins, because they actually took care of the should wins.
deluca67 Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Do you even like the Sabres? Does anyone at this point? I mean this version of the team not the franchise in general.
