No replay of any Sabre penalty upset me. They were all legitimate penalties. Sure, the Sens might have gotten away with a couple, but there's no way this should have been an even power play game.

It almost seems like Kaleta vs. Rod the Bod opened the floodgates of mental diarrhea from the Sabres.

I don't argue with any of the sabres penalties either. They were mostly legit. One or two could have been calls/non-calls. But the fact that 2 icings waved off in favor of ottawa, whether they were in the opinion of anyone else or not, and maybe 4 non calls against the sens.

And staffords elbow was his back hitting one of their stars. That was NOT a penalty. He might have raised his elbow and it looked like one from the refs side but clearly not one from the replay.

This team has quit on Lindy, and if I were Lindy I'd quit on them.

Soft, Fragile, whatever you want to say would describe this team.

Lindy is better then this team. We are lucky to have him for the years that we have had him. At some point he is going to have to walk away from this and say forget it. If that happens..... We all better get used to James Patrick or Brian McCutcheon because we sure as hell know that the team will not bring in a real coach.

That was not boarding on Moore. That was not an elbow on Stafford. There should have been a boarding call on the Shakira play. Were we good enough to win? No. But these calls didn't help.

I just finished watching th egame on TIVO, and to lazy to read the 13 pages, so apoloise if repeating any posts here.

Two games in a row giving up a two goal lead. I don't want to blame the refs, but dam, 7 in a row? Only problem I had was Stafford elbow. If the rest of the game you are calling it by the letter of the law, than , Heatly cross checked Stafford. Yes Stafford elbowed him, but the rest of the game was called differant than that play. I hate the two ref system, as I do not follow what ref called what penalty, but the old adage"just call it consistently" really applied in this instance.

BTW, I am also sick of this squad. Energy for the first ten minutes, then nada. Shows me its not Lindy, its them. Like someone else said, I wouldn't blame Lindy for walking away from this mess.

Fug you Buffalo sports, for the first time in 46 years I am really, truly disgusted at both teams!

Well, I'm checking in. I didn't watch or even listen to one second of the game. I see Peters had a huge impact on the game and I hope on a night when the Sabres had a pitiful number of shots on goal that Lindy gets grilled for the brutal waste of a lineup spot. Did I read correctly that at the 59 minute mark the Sabres had 9 shot on goal? Seriously?

Another lose to Ottawa. What a surprise. I read through this thread and other than some whining about the officiating, nothing. NOTHING.

:bag:

I just got done watching USA beat Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic and I can say for sure I got more bang for my buck than the suckers who watched the Sabres.

PS The news gets better...I will be there in person on Friday night.

I guess the desperation has set in when games are being blamed on the refs.

Glad you brought Peters up. This is the ONLY reason I could see Lindy getting canned. WTF are you doing putting him in the line-up?? Christ, I would have rather seen Paetsch in as a forward. I can't understand for the life of me why Peters, Tallinder, and a couple of other guys would even be seeing the ice right now. It doesn't make sense.

That said, it's also the reason I could see Lindy staying. He apparently has NO fear of being canned, thus the decision to go with morons in a game we desparately needed.

Thank you. The Sabres sucked and certainly deserved to lose, but those two calls in particular were brutal. What a gigantic surprise that a certain poster found no fault with them. <_<

and Moore's stupid cutesy pass on the PK 3-on-2, leaving a 2-on-1 for the Sens and the GWG by Alfredsson. You have to be smart enough to know that if a pass has achance of being broken up like that, you've got to get it deep or else it's an odd-man rush the other way!

Bad pass, but what is the defenseman doing jumping into the play on the PK in an even game with guys like Spezza and Alfredsson on the ice? That was as bad as Pominville sliding low against Atlanta on the PP the other night. 3-on-2's are not big advantages and when you're on the PK, that means that it's 3-on-1 behind you. Not a smart choice at all.

Sabres could've had 10 PP's tonight and still lost, though.

Like someone else posted - Are they playing to get Ruff fired?

If losing 14 straight last year didn't do it, will losing 14 straight do it this year?

The Sabres could have had more power plays and so could have the Sens.

Dumb, uninspired and lazy hockey teams don't get, nor deserve, the benefit of the doubt when it comes to calls on the ice. It's not the job of the officials to make up for this teams lack of effort. Teams that skate hard and go all out get the calls. Teams that stand around and make lazy plays end up in the penalty box.

I would love for Ruff to send a clear message to the players. When they hit the locker room before their next game the players should find that the letters and crests have been removed from the front of the jerseys and they should be made to play without them. There is not one player on this roster that deserves to wear a letter or deserves to represent this team or this city by wearing the crest.

OMG, That's twice now I've agreed with u. Changes man. We need changes. It's not just a loss, they were beat.

Agreed. Pretty sure that was Tallinder that jumped up to join the rush...

this was impressive.

Dio knows all.

Like I said earlier they are so predictable. They have no heart and blame it on the collective team to deflect remarks towards their own effort, or you can always claim a bad bounce.

Stick a fork in them :death:

...and for Darcy and Ruff, fire Darcy give Ruff 1 more year but his a$$ is on the hot seat.

A few games back against Ottawa the Sabres did have a 10 PP game. It didn't help them anyway. I think the Sens killed all but one of them.

I'm stuck w/ tickets for 2 more games, next wed against fla and 4/6 vs detroit...probably no one out there that even wants them. what a waste of $ that was....they should pay us fans for going from here on out!

And when you're on the PK for 80% of a period, probably more, you shouldn't expect a team to be flying high in the third.

Maybe this is one of those fuzzy math problems, but I don't see where the Sabres were shorthanded for 80% of the time either in the first or second periods?

I just saw this little beauty today. softies

Yup, Darcy certainly built us a true powerhouse here, and it's certainly good to know there's more of the same coming through Portland.

But size isn't everything.

Mental toughness and character is really what built this team.

Ouch!

...In late January, during his final unhappy days as head coach of the Ottawa Senators, Craig Hartsburg ran over the reasons he thought his team was already too far behind to make the playoffs.

Toward the top of his list was toughness.

"You want to know why we do so well against the Sabres?" he asked. "They're probably the only team in the league softer than we are."

What Spudz isn't telling you is that Dio is the name of his cat.

Na thats the dogs name. The cat is named Bruce Dickinson, and he's wise one.
