Thanks for this! Loved Sweeney's stutter steps after the OT goal in Boston, and Alex's sombrero! This team was soooo close. If only they could have stayed healthy. If only the Dominator had somehow become the Dominator that season. Oh well, what's Buffalo sports without the what ifs.

Check out the 3:47 mark. Lafontaine clearly hogged the puck on this goal. If he'd only passed to Almo he'd have had 77 that year. :)

This was the most offensively entertaining season I've had as a Sabres fan next to the two extended playoff runs a couple seasons ago. That playoff series against Boston in 93 was such a retribution for all those years losing to them in the first round, but then it was so disappointing to see the consecutive 4-3 losses to Montreal to bow out. The injury bug hit that year as well. Having top stars like Lafontaine, Mogilny, Hawerchuk were just awesome and there were other guys that could put the puck in the net too. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues...0000331993.html. Interesting to see Hawerchuk had 16 goals and 80 assists. Sounds like a ratio Connolly would have when he's healthy. Fuhr and Hasek in net was an awesome combo as well.
