Yeah, 'cuz you weren't complaining about this team when Miller was healthy ...

I said from the start that I don't like the looks of this roster. This team isn't good enough, even when healthy, to make the playoffs. Miller's play this year at least gave them a fighting chance. Unfortunately others on the bench decided to not carry on the fight.

Am I remembering this correctly? Didn't Pominville do something like this earlier in this season? I can't remember if all he needed to do was take another stride over the red line and then shoot the puck in to kill the clock or if he shot at an empty net instead of just skate around to kill the clock. I do remember that it led to a tying goal and eventual loss. It may even have been against Atlanta. Does anyone else remember this?

I'm not getting on him for whiffing on the clear. That happens. Him giving up on the shorty has me more angry. But I thought I remember us losing a point in similar fashion.

Not at all. He had a bad game in what is turning out to be a disappointing season. To say he is the main reason this team is suffering is ridiculous. Right now this teams biggest problem is Miller's injury. They need him healthy and stealing points. If this team doesn't make the playoffs you need to look no further to Miller's absence during the stretch run as a reason why.

I apologize for starting another Pommer thread but I HAD to vent. I don't agree with what you said about Miller's injury and I certainly don't agree with Miller needing to steal points. Lalime has given this team EVERY reason to get a W every game with the exception of one.

Players like Pommenville are the ones taking this team down...not injuries.

Pominville should now be known as Pominfail.

It's funny you post that considering your avatar. There have been some harsh criticisms of Vanek over his first few seasons.

I remember it.

Don't remember the result, but I remember the situation.

He came across the blueline down the wing, with the opposing net empty, with one or two players chasing him.

Instead of taking the puck around the back of the net, taking valuable seconds off the clock, he took a bad angle shot at the empty cage, missed, and the puck ended up in our end for a tying goal instead.

It was the Islanders game indeed. 12/27

Right, I remember now. Good find.

I wasn't sure which game it was, because I didn't seem to remember us losing, though I did remember cursing at the tv when we gave up those two late ones.

Jason Pominville should now be officially known as Jason Pominfail. The guy barely skates with any effort, ALWAYS takes slapshots from the outside, and hits the goalie in the chest. Does he always try to assassinate the goalie's logo? He needs to learn how to aim his shots. He doesn't hit at all, and seems to just be floating around out there, seemingly uninterested in the game. Hopefully he gets back to his old self next year. Playing with Hecht hasn't helped either....

POMINVILLE YOU SUCK I COULD HAVE CLEARED THE F*&%ING PUCK LAST NIGHT!!!!!!! SO GLAD WE SIGNED YOU LONG TERM!

He is like all the other pros that are out there that put up big numbers before their contract season and sign the big deal and shi%s the bed. Thanks a lot jason i hope they trade you bc you do not want to lead this team anywhere beside FLA or where ever your going to go when the season is over. They should take the A off you ASAP!!!!!

You think maybe Lalime should have made a save there? Maybe? How does a shot from the point end up sitting three feet behind him waiting for a tap in?

Very true, but the point still stands - Lalime shouldn't have faced the shot in the first place.

Water under the bridge. Moving on to get clobbered by the Sens again

And you should be known as AnnoyingPoster759. The joke failed once, so why not go right back to it again? :wallbash:

Maybe the kids problem is timing?

How about this?

That's the one. I could understand if it was Gerbe making these kind of mistakes. But Jason has had almost five full seasons under his belt. He shouldn't be making these nervous, rookie mistakes anymore. It's one of the reasons that I HATE him on the points for the powerplay. Let's hope that he is just putting too much pressure on himself, like Vanek did, and that he'll work through it.

Pomers I think is more of a down low guy on the PP, or midrange...if anything. He's got a deadly shot but it needs to be near the goal. His shot from the point on the PP is too high and uncontrolled. Plus he's not a QB type you need - he just doesn't have the composure to be on the point. Stafford said the other day that Lindy's got to plug the right people in at the right time -- aka why was Poms on at all in the last minute against Atlanta. why isn't Sekera on the other point opposite Spacek instead of banging away endlessly with Pominville. Could it be Lindy and McCutcheon are stuck in bad decision mode? I hope they consider putting the players in situations that they can be successful and not doing the same things over and over when it clearly isn't working.

Lindy like a R shot on the point, we have rivet and teppo, teppo sits so he uses pommers.

Does NHL tracked shots taken that are blocked, Pommers has to be up there with those.

The more i think about it the more i think hes a poor mans andreychuk, he cant really skate, is decent around the net. Andreychuk obviously was much better, HOF with 500 goals, pommers wont touch that.
