carpandean Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Check out the how tight the whole conference was last year: versus the spread of this year: though, the middle grouping is quite tight this year. Last year, at this point, no team was in (above playoff pace) by more than 10 points and only one was significantly more than 10 out. This year, three are more than 10 above and four are more than 10 below.
frisky Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 What are the labels for you X and Y axes? And what is the data that is calculated?
carpandean Posted March 9, 2009 Author Report Posted March 9, 2009 What are the labels for you X and Y axes? And what is the data that is calculated? It's my standard points net of playoff pace (93 points, as a rough estimate.) I.e., x = games played y = points earned - (93/82)x Basically, above the x axis is, roughly speaking, in the playoffs; below it is out of them. This is the one that I normally put up with just the Sabres over the past four years: Depressing, isn't it?
