Assquatch Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 In a trade, when a team gives "future considerations"? What does that mean? "Los Angeles Kings - Acquired forward Jeremy Roenick and a third round pick from the Philadelphia Flyers for future considerations."
PTS Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 My guess is it means if Roenick does well, Philly gets a 1st. If he doesn't they'll get a 2nd. Something of that nature.

"Los Angeles Kings - Acquired forward Jeremy Roenick and a third round pick from the Philadelphia Flyers for future considerations." Kind of like a 'bag of pucks'. Maybe Darcy is waiting for the teams to blow their load and have to dump to get back under the cap. Just maybe????? Who out of the guys that got offers actually excepted at this point? I've heard nothing. We have a lot of them sitting there with offers and nothing has been inked as far as I know.

Swedesessed Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Didnt the Sabres trade Ray Sheppard to the NY Rangers for future considerations and the future considerations was $1.00....or is that some kind of crazy made up thing?
Guest IKnowPhysics Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Remember that Detroit still owes us future considerations for Hasek, and Hasek won them the Cup.
Saber61 Posted August 5, 2005 Report Posted August 5, 2005 Remember that Detroit still owes us future considerations for Hasek, and Hasek won them the Cup. actually i was told a while back that there was a condition in the trade contract that said that hasek had to win the cup in his first year and then repeat in his second year with detroit to get us the 1st round pick... well hasek retired for a year or pulled his groin or something hasek like. (You know him...) any way bottom line is we gave him up for just about nothing... slava kozlov didn't exactly pan out did he... EDIT: Not sure on that information... i just remeber reading it... don't flame...
IKnowPhysics Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 You could be right, but at the time we yielded Hasek, Hasek >>> Kozlov. Something is due.
Saber61 Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 true... but would you give something up to us if you didn't have to... detroit can use all the draft picks they can get right about now.
ricogarion Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Future considerations in the Sabres case mean that in the future the Sabres will consider doing something special for their fans in the way of upgrading the caliber of players. No guarantee's though but we can hope!
