Bmwolf21 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 There is some weird connection between our recent improved play and the Filet O' Fish  Just sayin' Maybe the Sabres have given up "bad hockey" for Lent?
wjag Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 This is really getting interesting now. Montreal drops a 2-0 decision to Atlanta.. Six teams, Montreal 75, Florida 74, Rangers 74, Pittsburgh 74, Buffalo 73 and Carolina 73 are within 2 points in spots 5-10. Philadelphia has gained some separation with 78 points and 2 games in hand. There is simply no room for a loss to Ottawa tonight.

I should save it for Thursday, but, I was kinda pissed the MTL game wasnt on Center Ice last night to keep up on. Any goalie mentions for either team out there? I'd expect Lalime; wasnt sure what the LeClaire thing is all about yet.

ThePebble19 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 There is some weird connection between our recent improved play and the Filet O' Fish  Just sayin' There is no doubt. Our record of making the playoffs while there is a popular fish commercial on tv is impecable... Let us not forget 2 yrs ago... "We were biting this morning, we were biting this morning."

Let us not forget 2 yrs ago... "We were biting this morning, we were biting this morning." and "It's like you knew me my whole life..." This year the one that has gotten my attention is the "tech-no-logic" one... It sure is played a lot..
ROC Sabres Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 There is no doubt. Our record of making the playoffs while there is a popular fish commercial on tv is impecable... Let us not forget 2 yrs ago... "We were biting this morning, we were biting this morning." very true. Almost forgot about that. Now we just need excessive sweating and veins commercials and we will be first in the league again.
bob_sauve28 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Argh!!!! BEAT OTTAWA!!!! JUST BEAT THEM!! They suck, we SHOULD beat them!! Come on guys, you know this team loves playing you.

Barnabov Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Could someone clarify the roster limit situation now - I'm guessing it's allowed to have more than 23 players since the Sabres are now carrying 15 forwards & 8 D plus 2 active goalies. Seems like in past years, it was later in the season when teams were allowed to bring a bunch of guys up from the AHL for playoff runs. Sorry if I missed this somewhere else on the board. Thanks!
JohnRobertEichel Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 We are 1-2-1 against Ottawa this year, a clear non-playoff team. That is unacceptable.
carpandean Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 These guys have cost us enough -- 5 points in three losses, Vanek for nine games -- time to stop the bleeding against them and take our two points. I've liked the team that I've seen in the past two games. It's defensively sound, offensively clicking and all-round hard to play against. Keep it up. This is another game-in-hand (against Pitt and Carolina) that we have to take advantage of. It's also an opportunity to pass the idle Rangers and tie the idle Canadiens, both of whom are playing top teams tomorrow that have been struggling as of late. Carolina is playing Tampa and Florida is playing St. Louis tonight. Those teams will likely take care of their "should win" games, because that's what playoff teams do. We have to take care of ours for a change.
NowDoYouBelieve Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 We are 1-2-1 against Ottawa this year, a clear non-playoff team. That is unacceptable. we've made up for it against the rest of the division though...combined 6-4 against Boston and Montreal, and then domination of Toronto.
darksabre Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Don't forget the beard of bees!! It has no power over me!
carpandean Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 we've made up for it against the rest of the division though...combined 6-4 against Boston and Montreal, and then domination of Toronto. I don't know if we've "made up for" anything. We could have had those wins and a winning record against Ottawa. Those last two really hurt, but they were also the first two without Vanek and the team looked a little deflated and lost because of it (not an excuse, but an observation.) They got Vanek back, so time to show that they are the better team. As good as Patty has been playing, Ottawa's top line is so good at moving the puck to the open side and making sure that the man is there to score the goal. They MUST be kept in check.
Stoner Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Don't forget the beard of bees!! I like to harken back to the days of KFC's Disgruntled Assistant Manager with IBS Bowl. John Murphy slipped in the fish the other night when doing the highlights of a Lalime save. "Lalime said gimme back that Filet O' Fish." :)
Wyborowa Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Ottawa has our number, plain and simple.... I hope Max keeps his play up and see the population of Pomminstein go up as well... and what about that bastard Hecht!?!?! He's the invisible man on the ice....
Stoner Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Sabres on their first winning streak in a MONTH. I was surprised to see that. When the season is dissected, when you look at how well they passed the gauntlet in January, to then go .500 in February was the killer.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Vanek scores tonight..............
Rabbit151 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 We are 1-2-1 against Ottawa this year, a clear non-playoff team. That is unacceptable. before y'all get too excited about the game tonight...bear in mind that a visiting team, playing the second of back-to-backs against a rested home team...has a very low win percentage. Tellquist will have to steal this one.
inkman Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Not to mention, it's Ottawa. No matter how much they suck, they still have Buffalo's number.
Mbossy Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 I should save it for Thursday, but, I was kinda pissed the MTL game wasnt on Center Ice last night to keep up on. Any goalie mentions for either team out there? I'd expect Lalime; wasnt sure what the LeClaire thing is all about yet. Sabres Edge says same lineup from last night. Including LaLime. Gonna drink some Corona to support the team tonight.
