G.M. Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 So far playing with Roy one point one game... Lets see if he keeps it up... BTW you can't pull Max from the lineup until he earns it. Right now he deserves to be in and anyone with a brain would agree. For some reason Lindy gave him another chance and he seems to be taking advantage of it (He probably read my wonderful :worthy: posts on it). As long as he is allowed to play with Roy he will be OK, they have chemistry. Start moving him back to the third and forth lines then he will be on the outs. Lindy has sent a message. To remove a player after playing so well would send a very bad message to the team. Max is the only one to blame if he can't stay in the lineup. Go :worthy: Max :worthy: Go!
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Adding Paille to that line was a good move as well. He had a good game a few weeks back against rangers and than moved to 4th line. Lindy needs to stick with the lines and let them roll. Max had a good game but can he keep it up, we see this from him alot after being in dog pound looks good for a few than becomes old Max again

The reason why he was taken out in the first place, now he's just looking to play next year. He should've thought that way all year and he wouldn't be asking to be traded for the past 2 months.

Uh ... his point came on the PP, not while playing with Roy. Max had a very good game last night, using his speed and stickhandling more effectively on both offense and defense than he has for most of the last two years. As pointed out, though, he's done that before after being benched and/or called out, but usually reverts back after a game or two. It will take a lot more than one game for you to be able to proclaim that you were right, especially since he didn't score a goal last night, which was one of the biggest complaints. I will, however, agree that he shouldn't be moved. In fact, with the exception of working in Moore and deleting MacArthur, the lineup should stay the same on Friday. If he continues to play well, great, Lindy will not take him out. If he falls off, though, he will not be going to the third/fourth line -- we have far too many players that are better fits on those lines than he is -- he will be headed to the press box.
Two or less Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 One thread about Max is all that was needed. The guy doesn't deserve multiple threads. He had a great game, I even posted it in the other thread, and leave it as is. Let's see him build off this great game with more good games, and hopefully his confidence will sky rocket and he can start scoring some goals. Max is far from proven himself because of one game.

Spudz Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 I think you should start a keep Buffalo Max'd petition. You and the rest of the Afinofans can sign. Seriously...one game. He played great, but it is one game. "Happens to every guy sometimes this does." ~Yoda
Bmwolf21 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 This thread just got creepy. You're not kidding. :bag:
spndnchz Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Why is Yoda wearing lipstick? That's not Yoda. That's G.M. on Halloween before she goes with her friends to Club Marcella.
cdexchange Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Go Max Go! Hey, congrats on being our youngest female poster
LabattBlue Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 "Smart Max" was in uniform last night. It is only a matter of time before "Stupid Max" comes back. Anyone who doesn't believe this has never seen Max in action over the last 10 years during which time his maddening play has resurfaced time and time again.

darksabre Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 I suppose if you can't attack the mans argument then try to attack the man! Sad...  This board has moved beyond attacking the argument. Max is a tired old subject here.

Anyone who doesn't believe this has never seen Max in action over the last 10 years during which time his maddening play has resurfaced time and time again. Yeah, I remember when he was younger, we would see the crazy, bone-headed plays and we'd happily point to his speed and dangling, proclaiming "man, when he finally puts it all together, he will be amazing." Then, one day, he wasn't young anymore and we realized that "finally" was never coming. Even in 2006-07, he was frustrating and Lindy even benched him in the playoffs. For now, I'll enjoy "smart Max" ...

Any doubt Max is thinking "if the Sabres will pay $9 million for the cripple I still cash in."
carpandean Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Any doubt Max is thinking "if the Sabres will pay $9 million for the cripple I still cash in." Fortunately, even if they were stupid enough to want to re-sign Max this summer, they won't have the cash to do it.
