bottlecap Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 looks like darcy's soft players have quit on ruff. what a surprise.
BamBam Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Here is what Eck is saying about Guerin.... He took the skate, was healthy, but is a no show for the warm up and game against Buffalo.... Updated...Guerin has texted Andy Strickland to tell him that we will all know what is going on with him in the morning...he has left the building. Andy has learned that it is NOT NJ or Boston. I found out that it is NOT Philly... I am hearing that Washington, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh are all possible. hmmmmm
SabreInFla Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Excellent informational post! Thanks BamBam. Say hello to Pebbles. After this game, and as Sabres fans, why should we give two s**ts about where Bill Guerin is traded to. Even if it were the Sabres, this team would not improve.

Claude Balls Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 And seeing how Buffalo did play the Islanders, WTF wouldn't Guerin be dressed for either side? He ain't coming to Buffalo.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Either way, phones better be ringing tonight that don't belong to buffalo. Darcy's gonna have to do a helluva sales job to convince another GM to take most of these stiffs.

Stoner Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 No way.Player moves need to happen. I'm pretty sure enough players have come and gone since 1997.
darksabre Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 I would rather dress the friggin filet-o-fish before I would send some of these slackers out there in the third. I'm glad I missed this game. This filet o fish thing is hilarious though. :D
Stoner Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 If I were a GM, I'd tell this team that there will be moves after this effort.... Do you think the threat of being traded away from Lindy Ruff and Darcy Regier and the city of Buffalo bothers anyone?
SabreInFla Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Do you think the threat of being traded away from Lindy Ruff and Darcy Regier and the city of Buffalo bothers anyone? Lol......yeah to think they might end up in Pittsburgh, Boston or Washington or Philly must be pretty scary. Leaving a winner like the Sabres would be terrible.
bottlecap Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 I don't see any team wanting any of these losers.
tasker48b Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 I'm going to go ahead and hit the panic button. Horrid. Horrid. Horrid.
darksabre Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Do you think the threat of being traded away from Lindy Ruff and Darcy Regier and the city of Buffalo bothers anyone? Pat Kaleta? You know that kid would leave reluctantly.

Stoner Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Pat Kaleta? You know that kid would leave reluctantly. I guess I have to give you that one. But he knows he's not getting traded.
LabattBlue Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Game thoughts... - I expect a trade(I'm not talking of the Corkum variety) announced by Monday morning. Getting beat by the worst team in the NHL without Campoli, Comrie, Weight, Guerin, Witt, etc... is embarrassing. - Down 1-0 going into the 3rd and you get outshot 18-11 and outscored 1-0. I sat on the couch bewildered. - I'm not even going to bother singling anyone out. They sucked as a team. - The Sabres better not be the team that Guerin was traded to. No F***ing rental players.
Stoner Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 I can't get over Pominville. I've noticed it all year -- his feet just aren't moving. I don't know if he's injured or what. On Hecht's shorthanded chance in the third, down the right wing, you can't tell me he doesn't have another gear to put his head down and go to the net instead of flipping a hopeless shot into the goaltender's body. I'm also down on Roy. He's pressing, trying to put the team on his back. But at least he's erring in the right direction.

Two or less Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Game thoughts... - I expect a trade(I'm not talking of the Corkum variety) announced by Monday morning. Tonight was as embarrassing as it gets. I also sat on the couch in disbelieve watching that 3rd period. The Sabres just had no legs. I know people say i'm too optimistic on these boards and what not, but i do think there is some bright spots. These last 3 games and even looking back to when Vanek went down, the team is like 2-6 without Vanek and now lost 3 in a row. This might be our worst stretch of the season we've seen. This is as BAD as they have been all season. Yet, with a miracle by Atlanta tonight and NJ blowing out Florida, we are still in 8th and still have a realistic chance of even finishing 5th. Although it looks slim, but 6 or 7th are very possible. If they turn this around soon, they may move up a few spots with a few good games in a row.
LabattBlue Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 As if things weren't bad enough for Lindy. I just noticed that.
tulax Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Well Spacek just confirmed it in his WGR interview: "we thought this would be an easy game tonight" and "there are no more easy games." Honestly, how long have fans been hearing there are no more easy games after losses the past few weeks? It's like listening to a crack addict talk about how this is the day he will kick the habit. Maybe it works for a few days, but they fall right back into the same routine. After a while, the talk just gets really annoying when the play doesn't follow.
... Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 It's not that this team has no chemistry - this team has negative chemistry. I've said it before, and it's clear this team collectively has no heart: blow out the damn roster. You know who I would like to see go? Roy. He is Max version 2.0. Get rid of Hecht. Get rid of The Skill. Bye-bye Lydman, buh-bye Tallinder. Whomever else that has to go to create (positive) chemistry, then I'm all for it. Keep Vanek, Miller, Lalime (yes, Lalime), and a lot of the remaining D.

Too much finesse on one line, too much energy on another and too much... nothing on another. Spread them out. I'm waiting for the Kotalik-Goose-Staff line to finally emerge as a line and see what happens. Sniper - Power forward/grinder - not sure i would call staff a playmaker but i think it would be close enough to call him one.
rickshaw Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 We're done. They've dropped too many points against shitttttty teams. You can't lose to the NYI and get away with it. There will be tonnes of 3 point games coming up too and we won't be the one in those games. We're either 2 pointer or 0 pointer games for the most part. I hate to say it but we're done. If I'm wrong you can say I told you so and I'll be fine with that.
