FogBat Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Hecht played that 3 on 1 the worst ever. Flung it so fast in front no chance for a tip, but it wasn't a shot. Useless And how long did he get signed for??? :wallbash:
ROC Sabres Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Well, at least we know we got a point, I wasn't expecting much from this game so I'm already happy. Let's see if the shooters and The Lime can make me happier.
wjag Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Hecht played that 3 on 1 the worst ever. Flung it so fast in front no chance for a tip, but it wasn't a shot. Useless Hecht has no forehand shot, always uses the backhand... Pomminstein alwsys shoots from the dot... These guys can be predictable...
PromoTheRobot Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Good thing Lalime was hot tonight. Another 1-goal effort in front of him. PTR
ThePebble19 Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 WOW.. THAT WAS ALMOST LIGHTS OUT!!! No doubt....I hung my head because I thought it was over...I'm surprised the refs didn't somehow give Carolina a penalty shot.
Spudz Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Hecht can't play center, is not a good offensive forward, and sucks as a defensive forward. Maybe we should try him at goal?
wjag Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Ruutu: Missed Kotalik Missed Jokinen :censored: Pomminstein: Missed Cullen Missed Connolly: Missed Game over
Spudz Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Kudos to LaLime win or lose. He played a great game. I hope this gives him confidence for the next few.
Buffalo Wings Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Now tied for 8th with the Canes. :censored:
SabreInFla Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 You had to know we wouldn't be able to score on Ward. So we lose the game and our best defenseman. Quickly losing faith here.
jwcolour Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Ales has to change up that move sometime to keep goalies on their toes. Pommer off the cross bar. Tim with Ales's same move gets shut down. They didn't play bad as a whole but hell they gotta put these pucks in.
sabresnutinphoenix Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 stick a fork in this season...
Spudz Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Can any one F*%&*%$ score except Vanek? I'm pissed after watching them blow this. Going to bed like its sunday night after a bills loss :death: .
darksabre Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Darcy needs to bring us some offensive talent and fast. When Kaleta is the only goalscorer there are problems. I don't care who we trade, give me someone with some balls who can score. The 3rd and 4th line looked great tonight, but we need something from the other two lines. Connolly was invisible and I don't even want Pomminstein on the ice. We need offense and we need it bad.
jwcolour Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 stick a fork in this season... I wouldn't go that far but Spacek if he is out for season is HUGE loss. That just means more Lydman.
JohnRobertEichel Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 :worthy: game by Lalime. The rest of the team can :censored: off.
SabresFan526 Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 I hate leaving Carolina only with one point, but I'll take it. If anyone wants to question Lalime, I think tonight is proof enough that the Sabres will be just fine with him in net so long as he gets goal support. Lalime played extremely well tonight even with the flu. The only goal he gave up was on a screen shot that he couldn't see. The Sabres played extremely well defensively tonight, and I really liked what I saw as they gave up no PP goals, which has got to be a first in like 10 games. Extremely gutty performance by Lalime. I may sound like the Sabres won even though they didn't, but there was a lot to like about this game even though the Sabres lost. The Sabres absolutely have to put away the chances they get to score goals. They outshot Carolina and had some amazing scoring chances that they did not put away. They have to convert, especially on that 3-on-1 in OT. No excuse. The shootout let the Sabres down tonight. I'm a little surprised that Lindy is using Connolly so much as he has not been too successful in recent attempts. I would have gone with Kotalik, Stafford, and Pominville, myself. Kotalik really telegraphed his move tonight and I think Ward knew that Kotalik was going to go backhand the whole time and snuffed it out. Oh well. I hate only coming away with 1 point, but I liked the effort and the solid defensive play by the Sabres, so I am encouraged with Lalime in net so long as the Sabres give him some goal support. Ok, on to Long Island where hopefully we can leave there with 2 points and potentially Andy Sutton, Bill Guerin, Trent Hunter, or Doug Weight.
BamBam Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 I'd say we are sellers, but what do we have to sell?
FogBat Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 You had to know we wouldn't be able to score on Ward. So we lose the game and our best defenseman. Quickly losing faith here. I haven't lost mine. It just depends on what we have faith in.
jwcolour Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 I'd say we are sellers, but what do we have to sell? I think the only thing that might yield anything of value would be Tim.
Guest Sloth Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Vanek, Miller, and Spacek are out. Buffalo didn't seem to play w/ a lot of energy in the second and third periods. Yes, the refing sucked, but the Sabres missed a few great scoring opportunities. No excuses. The question now is whether or not the players will give it all they got or simply roll over. I think it's going to be tough for the Sabres to play 110% effort hockey w/ their most important players out. Buffalo is now out of a playoff spot. Do they want to get back into a playoff spot or do they want an early vacation? That is the question. I'm sure the locker room is rather quiet right now...
LabattBlue Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Game thoughts... - About as good an effort as you are going to see from Lalime is pissed away. - Hecht's play is absolutely mind boggling. - Sekera has some really good offensive skills which I believe will come to the forefront in the coming years. - Kaleta showed why he should never be in the press box again. His LEGAL hit on BrindAmour was a thing of beauty. - Bottom line...The Sabres needed to to find a way to win, yet only could manage one goal.
FogBat Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 BTW, in his first game back, Brodeur gets a shutout. He is another shutout closer to tying Terry Sawchuk.
