Everyone is making great trades but us. :wallbash:

that's ridiculous. 12 teams have been involved so far and we are one of them.

On top of that, the teams that make the biggest splashes don't always win the Cup. It's not that hard to figure out. Pittsburgh made a lot of moves on trade deadline day last season. Sure, they made it to the SCF, but they still lost to an already well-stocked Red Wings team.

Bruins just got Recchi.

Deal details:

Boston gets:

F Mark Recchi

2010 2nd Rd. Pick

Tampa:

D Matt Lashoff

F Martins Karsums

These names mean nothing to me - anyone know anything about them?

why don't you go ahead and detail all the GREAT trades (your words not mine) that have occurred so far by EVERYONE (again YOUR word not mine)...

Alright fine, you got me. I'm exaggerating. I'm just not pleased at all with today's work by the Sabres front office yet. They better do something more before 3:00 or this team doesn't stand a chance.

but how many other fans from every other team are saying the same thing? It's not like everyone is having a party but us. Darcy may be telling the truth - everyone is buying, but no one is selling.

Last year was his first standout year, and that was playing behind the Jackets' trap. Before that he struggled a lot, so I'm gonna wait and see how he does on a team that doesn't trap and play defense first.

I am a CBJ season ticket holder. Leclaire is Connolly-level injury prone. Jackets are stocked with Mason and LaCosta making Leclaire expendable.

No, it won't get us to the playoffs, necessarily. It will, however, get Enroth back to Portland. You gotta do what you gotta do, man.

Two times a year that are great fun just to watch moaning around here are trade deadline and opening

day of free agency......

BTW...how many big contracts from Free Agency last summer got waived this week?

It's fine. I'm glad we made the trade. I just want to see more from us. If everyone is buying and no one is selling, then why aren't we selling? I can think of quite a few players that I'd be okay with selling.

Nobody wants to buy what we're selling.

Looks like the Sabres are done. I figure when they come out with a press release about their acquisitions for the day, that pretty much means they're done. Not a big fan, but this team does not need to do too much, but could have easily sold some pieces to acquire some assets like Tallinder, Max, and MacArthur to get some picks. Just my opinion.

NHL Live just reported that Gaborik is in play, per their GM.

Nothing good for us, but interesting that in the last hour, this is mentioned.

Could mean teams are feeling the pressure and maybe would make moves just to make moves. That would be good for us.

Boring.

I have a feeling that we will be hearing about a lot of trades between 3:00-4:00 pm. I know trades can't happen after 3:00, but announcements for last minute trades are often made after that time.

This is like waking up Christmas morning and finding an old pair of your own sneakers under the tree, right next to a huge pile of dog crap.

Or waking up christmas morning an finding out you are a Jehova's Witness.
