carpandean Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Geez, is this the waiver claim deadline or the trade deadline? Let's get to the good stuff, already! Less than 24 hours left!
Two or less Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Geez, is this the waiver claim deadline or the trade deadline? Let's get to the good stuff, already! Less than 24 hours left! Actually, this is a very good sign. Teams are trying to clear some cap space to get busy tomorrow.....
carpandean Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Actually, this is a very good sign. Teams are trying to clear some cap space to get busy tomorrow..... I know, but I'm not patient enough to wait until tomorrow.
darksabre Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 I'd take Gary Roberts for the rest of the season. I got invited to sit in the 100s above the penalty boxes for Fridays game, so they better makes some moves. I want to see some new faces!
Goodfella25 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Take a look at that list of players put on waivers today. Is Afinogenov better than ANY of those players? I would rather have almost all of those players than Max on this team. You've got to figure--if guys that have actually produced more than 2 goals are being cut, what the heck could Darcy possibly get for Max? It either proves that 1) Max does have SOME value after all, 2) The Sabres do plan to include Max in the lineup for the rest of the year, or 3) Darcy is just insane thinking he can get something for this player that 30 clubs don't want on their roster.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 lol my bad. I actually skimmed the thread and must have moved on after i read about Backstrom. No harm done. No worries, just busting chops.
Barnabov Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 What did they say on TSN about Connolly officially being off the market? They keep switching the feed on me everytime I try to adjust the volume!
Realist Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 What did they say on TSN about Connolly officially being off the market? They keep switching the feed on me everytime I try to adjust the volume! What link are you listening to? I'm at TSN.ca and not getting any Video or Audio.
SabresFan526 Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 TSN's Bob McKenzie reporting that the Sens have re-upped with Filip Kuba for 3 years at $3.7 million/year.
SabresFan526 Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 McKenzie reporting Vermette for Pascal LeClaire. Probably takes Connolly off the table for Columbus. Edit: Columbus also added a Second Round Pick to Ottawa in the deal. The official deal is Vermette to Columbus for LeClaire and a 2nd Round pick going to Ottawa.
FogBat Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 http://www.tsn.ca/story/?id=269703 Filip Kuba takes contract extension with the Senators. Trade tracker: http://www2.tsn.ca/window/tradetracker.aspx Ottawa gets Pascal Leclaire and a 2nd round pick and sends Antoine Vermette to Columbus. EDIT: ok, SabresFan526, you beat me to it. NP.

Surprisingly, Vermette was one of the few Senators that I actually liked. Well, "liked" is probably a little strong-- more like one of the few I didn't HATE. I think he's a good player and I hope he does well in Columbus. But my first impression is that Ottawa won this deal bad... LeClaire has shown a lot of promise.

Bmwolf21 Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 But my first impression is that Ottawa won this deal bad... LeClaire has shown a lot of promise. Last year was his first standout year, and that was playing behind the Jackets' trap. Before that he struggled a lot, so I'm gonna wait and see how he does on a team that doesn't trap and play defense first.
nobody Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Brian Burke says he expects to trade Dominic Moore since they are too far off on contract negotiations.
Bigthuder1636 Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Wouldnt mind having Moore here. Especially if we can clear some dead weight here in the trade
Barnabov Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Just watching TSN TradeCentre & laughing at the guy on right now - John Lu - looks like a younger Asian version of Don Cherry.
carpandean Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 To Pittsburgh: Andy Wozniewski To St. Louis: Danny Richmond
tulax Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Mikael Tellqvist to the Sabres per TSN for a 4th round pick
shrader Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 TSN has us picking up Telqvist from Phoenix.
darksabre Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Why do we need another backup goalie? Are you that dense?
maximus Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Are you that dense? Wow nice reply. I ask the question because if Miller might be out for awhile why do we need someone about as good as our current backup now? I don't know much about Tellqvist though.
jimiVbaby Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Wow, after all this dealing Darcy must be tired.
