deluca67 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 I can't wait until Lalime proves you to be the dumba$$ that you are. Keep waiting. It will happen around the same time that Carmen Electra shows up on my doorstep.
Bmwolf21 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Portland is in Hartford tonight, Bridgeport tomorrow and off Monday/Tuesday, so Enroth should have no problems getting here in time for Tuesday if needed.
R_Dudley Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Well good game overall and some observations on tonights game; 1) I can actually say now with out fear of jinxing him that Tallinder looked pretty good out there tonight. Defintely more solid then Teppo had been playing. 2.) Pailles game is slowly coming around. 3.) Goose looked better and had more legs tonight which is expected after missing some games. 4.) PP looks better and I like seeing 2 to 3 sabre's around the net waiting on the rebounds. 5.) Hecht looked a little better tonight and made some key plays at the right time instead of the key flubs 6.) Butler was solid and I really like his game and can't wait to see his game grow. Lalime definiterly gets the rematch tuesday against the Ducks, depending on Miller's injury and how he plays Lindy may even let Miller take a little longer and play Lalime a couple in a row whether he has to or not... Not the way I wanted too see Lalime get in but I have confidence he has as much game as Biron did a few years back and can be as good or better than Biron was then if the rest of the team responds accordingly.....
Eleven Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Lindy, on the post-game show, was pretty certain that Gomez went at Miller on purpose. Sometimes, a player's reputation might mean something, and in my mind, it's tonight. I can't see Gomez being that guy, just like I can see a moron like Gauthier would be that guy. Bad hit. Should have been heavily penalized. But I'll give Gomez the benefit of the doubt, this time.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Maybe if they addressed it earlier. If they would have gone after the Sens hard when they spent the other night running Miller the Rangers wouldn't have gone after Miller tonight. The Sabres reputation is out there. The Sabres are a gutless team that doesn't protect their goalie. I expect Lalime get run on Tuesday. The Captain of this team needs to start hitting guys when they hit Miller. Sabres need to start sending a Rob ray like message
deluca67 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Damn.. That just took all the steam out of the win unless your name is Deluca.. I'm just a little quicker than most. When a goalie can't stand up it's not good. If his teammates don't have the heart to respond after watching him limp off the ice, why dress for the game?
pukincrozier Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 The Captain of this team needs to start hitting guys when they hit Miller. Sabres need to start sending a Rob ray like message The fact that Gomez left the game with out taking a beating just reinforces the pussification of this team.
Knightrider Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 2. Did we retaliate at all? Connolly put the tip of his stick in Gomez's mouth the next shift...
deluca67 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 The Captain of this team needs to start hitting guys when they hit Miller. Sabres need to start sending a Rob ray like message Where was Gaustad?
tulax Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Portland is in Hartford tonight, Bridgeport tomorrow and off Monday/Tuesday, so Enroth should have no problems getting here in time for Tuesday if needed. I watched the pirates play in the first period last night in Philadelphia. He looked shaky at best in the 1st and only gave up 1 goal. They ended up giving up 7 in that game. Not exactly a good time to make your first appearance on the NHL roster.
deluca67 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Connolly put the tip of his stick in Gomez's mouth the next shift... A little face wash for knocking out Miller. Gomez will take that trade every time. So will every other team the Sabres face.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Where was Gaustad? I hate wasting a slot for Peters but tonight and last time against canes we need someone who will take exception to this constant runs at miller
deluca67 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 I hate wasting a slot for Peters but tonight and last time against canes we need someone who will take exception to this constant runs at miller When has Peters ever responded to anything?
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 When has Peters ever responded to anything? well true. Sure miss having a real player like Shoney that would never have stood for this crap
SabresFan526 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 I'm very aggravated by the lack of response from this team and these defenseman. I think it's time for Darcy to make a trade for a defenseman who is just outright mean and dirty. I don't know who's available, but I'm thinking a guy like Scott Hannan as Colorado is in the tank right now. I don't know, but there is just not enough nastiness on the blueline right now. We've got Rivet, but he's been a bit disappointing in that regard. Weber can fill that role, but he's been absolutely terrible this year and does not deserve to be playing in the NHL right now. Maybe Paetsch, but he's not good enough to replace anyone on the blueline right now. Whatever the case, I'm just really pissed that Gomez gets away with it and the Sabres do nothing to respond. Where's the heart?
Eleven Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 A little face wash for knocking out Miller. Gomez will take that trade every time. So will every other team the Sabres face. It's Scotty Gomez, not Chris Neil. Ever think of deferring to the players on the ice as to whether it was an intentional cheap shot? I hated seeing it, too, but c'mon.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 After reviewing the play looks like Gomez looses edge after his skate hitting Tallinders. It wasnt a run at Miller as we have seen too many times this year
sjb012 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Miller was just interviewed...high-ankle sprain. Significant limp, no crutches, no broken bones.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Miller was just interviewed...high-ankle sprain. Significant limp, no crutches, no broken bones. hate that term high ankle sprain those damn things usually take longer to heal

I hated seeing it, too, but c'mon. Gomez is a pretty dirty player. The only reason he's not called on it more is that is not his role. I can't wait until he gets his.

I hated seeing it, too, but c'mon. Why would it matter who it is? It's OK for players to run the goalie if the guy doing it is a nice guy? This isn't a one time incident. This is a long pattern of team indifference to the health of their goalie. I hope the team enjoys the feeling when they work hard and take a look at the scoreboard and are trailing because Lalime lets in those weak goals that had him out of the NHL a couple of seasons ago.
wjag Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 hate that term high ankle sprain those damn things usually take longer to heal We might see Lalime for the next 10 games or so....
deluca67 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 hate that term high ankle sprain those damn things usually take longer to heal Wouldn't they still want to do an MRI?
SwampD Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Miller said he knows scott well cant imagine he did it intentionally I didn't say I wouldn't take him on the Sabres. But he is not on the Sabres and he knew exactly what he was doing the entire play.
