deluca67 Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Avery is giving the Rangers a shot of life today.
cilevel Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Avery is giving the Rangers a shot of life today. As much as I can't stand the guy, this is true. And, he seems to be containing his behavior atleast somewhat.
carpandean Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Avery is giving the Rangers a shot of life today. I've always said that Avery has been a waste, because when he knocks his over-the-top s**t off, he's actually quite skilled. He's back on the right side of the line that he keeps crossing. As long as he keeps on that side, he will be the best deal that the Rangers have gotten in a long time (since Dallas is paying half of his salary.)
carpandean Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Kunitz with a hat trick and an assist. Pens up 5-4. Of course, they did give up a shorty, so as someone here said, they don't deserve to win.
Eleven Posted March 15, 2009 Author Report Posted March 15, 2009 I wonder, if they had known how good he and Carter would end up being so quickly, would they have bothered signing Briere? (Even ignoring that the cap may go down after next year.) Edit: Flyers tie it at one in the second. Edit 2: Speaking of Briere, he just showed that he is a true Sabre at heart. Here's what the commentator said "ohhh ... Briere had a chance to clear the puck out of the zone ... he's got to get it out there." Danny ended up taking a penalty when the Rangers continued to hold it in the zone and the Rangers ended up scoring a PP goal to make it 2-1. On your pre-edit point: I think the Flyers knew what Carter and Richards would be before they signed Briere. At least their fans did, from the Phlyerswhatever webside that is linked from the THC300 page. Those folks were onto Carter and Richards in 2006. I'd take Richards here in a heartbeat over most of the guys on the roster. On a straight-up deal, who would you really not trade besides Miller, Vanek, and maybe Rivet (because it would be nice to have one kickass vet defenseman)?
LabattBlue Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 I'd take Richards here in a heartbeat over most all of the guys on the roster. I fixed it for you.
LabattBlue Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Carolina beats New Jersey. I'm glad New Jersey played Weekes instead of Brodeur. <_<
carpandean Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Carolina beats New Jersey. I'm glad New Jersey played Weekes instead of Brodeur. <_< I was going to post the same thing, but figured that I'd just get dumped on with "what does it matter?" posts.
Chief Enabler Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 WEEI has been nervous here in Boston about the Bruins tanking, not giving 60-minute efforts and being outplayed by physical teams; especially from out west (SJ, ANA). Consensus was that perhaps NJ and even the Rags will get their $%^t together in time for a run in the East. I didnt pickup on any western tidbits, but I was thinking Olli will bring an interesting element to Calgary come playoff time. I'll root for them! And heck, gotta root for Al with the Oilers! and Bernier :wallbash: , and Zubrus :wallbash: , and Soupy :wallbash: , and Conklin :wallbash: ,
Chief Enabler Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 and Briere :wallbash: and Drury :wallbash: and even Peca!!! :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
SwampD Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Rangers lose to Ottawa. Nobody wants to run away with it.
sabresnutinphoenix Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 not looking good with Montreal winning 3-2 tonight...
SabreInFla Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Gotta love that the Sabres are only one point ahead of the Leafs now. The season can't end soon enough.
Eleven Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 The season can't end soon enough. Wish it had ended in February.

spndnchz Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 BTW, anyone see the foot in the crease no-goal call during the Flames game Sat? Nice, real nice. Where has this ref been all our life?
carpandean Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 BTW, anyone see the foot in the crease no-goal call during the Flames game Sat? Nice, real nice. Where has this ref been all our life? Two goals waived off by the same ref for infractions by the same player within seconds of each other on the same powerplay: <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"> Fortunately, for them and the ref, the Flames still won the game 3-2. Otherwise, there would have been a major uproar afterwords.

sabresnutinphoenix Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Rangers winning 3-0 in the 3rd....
jwcolour Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Rangers winning 3-0 in the 3rd.... Yeah doesn't help though I think we'd have a better shot at the Canadiens... would still be nice to have 2 teams that could collapse.
Eleven Posted March 31, 2009 Author Report Posted March 31, 2009 Rangers winning 3-0 in the 3rd.... I think Brodeur was drunk.
jwcolour Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 I think Brodeur was drunk. He initially made a lot of really good quick saves... then... yeah.
