Buffalo Wings Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I think it's time to make use of Connolly and have him play with Stafford rather than Hecht and Pominville. When did that line get broken up? Connolly & Stafford were on fire for a while.
jwcolour Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Well they kind of showed up with 2 minutes left and then after a nice stint in their zone those same tired players get trapped in their own... atleast its only 2 goals. Though they can't be the team they were these previous two periods and expect any points. Probably a good call by lindy to not waste Millers efforts if noone else will... Lalime is playing genius so far though
darksabre Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 With how Lalime has played, will all the haters get off his back now? This is clearly another game where the team in front of the goaltenders isn't showing up. We're just lucky Lalime is having some puck luck. We picked it up there at the end but this team needs to get something going. We should never lose to a team like Carolina.
ROC Sabres Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 When did that line get broken up? Connolly & Stafford were on fire for a while. I think they broke them up before the first game against Ottawa, when Vanek got hit in the face. Could be wrong tho.

R_Dudley Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I don't know how or why but Carolina's 7-2 record in second of back to backs looks like it has some legs as they defintely have outplayed us so far. Good news we have no excuse or reason not to be able to leave it all out on the ice in 3rd period here. Come on Buffalo it's time to wake up and give the fans something to cheer about. :chris: Oh and in case that doesn't happen Labatt has to stop attending any Sabres home games for the rest of the season.
SabreInFla Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Could we please stop it with all the pessimism? We've lost games in the past and we'll lose games in the future. You act like we're in the midst of choking the season away or something. The Panthers lost today too, is the sky falling for them? Kinda meant it as a joke.......lighten up! For the Panthers, the sky will indeed fall at some point.
darksabre Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I have a thought. Is it possible that it may be more difficult to play a really bad team than a really good one? Would a really good team do things that you would expect them to whereas a bad team kinda does things a little weird, which disrupts their opponents? I've seen this playing beer league hockey. Sometimes it's actually easier playing against a more skilled team.

The period wasn't a minute old before he was falling on his face and watching the Canes hit the post behind him. So so performance. But what should anyone expect with the way Ruff has handled him. Speaking of Lindy, before I die, I want to come on this board in the midst of yet another debacle like this and hear someone, anyone, criticize the job the man is doing. Year after year after year, his teams, more often than not it seems, especially at home, aren't ready to play. The power play is another nearly constant weakness of his. Now the Sabres can "win the third" and steal a point, according to Harry. :)

NowDoYouBelieve Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Kinda meant it as a joke.......lighten up! For the Panthers, the sky will indeed fall at some point. Haha sorry...you might have been joking, but there are plenty of folks around here who panic after every loss.

I wish I worked at a job that game me that many nights off.
wjag Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Okay we are going to need an ugly goal to get us started... I'm going to call one for Paille.. Some bizzare tip or something..

What they really need to do is find a way to get shots through to Ward. There have been too many blocked shots that never make it on goal.

And on the other note, if the point of the game was to hit opposing players, we'd win all the time!
R_Dudley Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I'm looking for a real good out play the other team period that sets the tone for future. Lets get it done one shift at atime here boys... Starts now.
sabresnutinphoenix Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 a little more energy this period...
sabresnutinphoenix Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Butler doesn't belong in the NHL....
sabresnutinphoenix Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Who did Lydman think he could shoot the puck through?
tulax Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Only Toni Lydman would take a glorious opportunity (forward without a stick) and completely screw it up by skating toward another forward so he could be double teamed
wjag Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Ward looks on. TC had a glorious chance and Ward stoned him...
jwcolour Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Ward looks on. TC had a glorious chance and Ward stoned him... If he shoots it quick I think he has it but awesome save by ward. I don't think we are getting anything by him.
