Anyone else want to start the Ger-be Ger-be Ger-be chant?

I was thinkin about it... though not sure if calling him up right after he just gets back for getting his brains scrambled (read: concussion).

Bummer.

I think we have enough wingers to go around, but are pretty short on centers.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Agree 100%. This seems like an odd move by Lindy.

Unless things look really bad, I don't think we will really need to call anyone up. Manicari could have waivers issues. Gerbe's recently had a concussion. Kennedy maybe? He was okay last time he was up but not really going to be an offensive contributor at this point. I don't think they are too high on Zagrapan. I would rather see Roy back and center and Hecht back at wing. Ellis, Mair, and Kaleta have been going pretty good and chipping in offensively. They look more like they will have 3+ lines for now and rotate players around as Lindy often does. They should be all right especially if Pommers and Hecht start picking it up even a little.

It seems to me Ruff is trying to turn Hecht into a defensive center like the one we had a few years ago. Should i give a hint? The bottom line is,Hecht sucks at center and its turning into a situation that destroys his entire game. Put him back at wing, and i believe he plays better. Keep him at center and his production probably will stay the same. What kills me even more is,Hecht and Pommer are together whilst they struggle to find the back of the net. Does that make sense? Why not throw the red hot Connolly with them and give Paille a bigger role? Maybe Paille with Roy and Staff will bring more out of him?

Does the coaching staff ever ask the team for their thoughts regarding who they'd like to play with on a line, or would that possibly cause personality issues/dissention?? Just wondering!!l

i agree, this is a perfect time to give him his shot. they have babied him enough. and if anything else, they can showcase him -- if he is the one who is supposed to be dealt. it will be nice to have some NHL video on him to give to scouts.

Me thinks it is time to see if Zagrapan will sink or swim.

per News article:

http://buffalonews.typepad.com/sabres/

The lines today were:

1. Roy-Connolly-Stafford

2. MacArthur-Hecht-Pominville

3. Kaleta-Ellis-Kotalik

4. Peters-Mair-Paille

I guess Ellis being moved as our best center already here with highest FO%.

Oh man, that is just straight up depressing to look at. Something just seems morbidly wrong about Kaleta and Kotalik being on the same line...hopefully a little bit of Kaleta rubs off on Ales. Get well soon, Thomas and Paul!

Who played center when Pommer, Hecht and Connolly played together? I wouldn't mind seeing that line, with Stafford and Roy together on another line together.

Kotalik's problem is that he is a bad passer. He just can't connect on those passes that create opportunities. He plays well in the physical part of the game but he isn't creative and that kills scoring chances

So now we have basically one center. All due respect to Ellis and Mair but seriously. Something better be done. I agree with the Reaper. Hecht at center is a friggin train wreck.

That second line will be striking fear in to the hearts of our opponents. I am gonna call it the MPH line. It makes me think of cars, which in turn makes me think of passengers. Which is what these imposters have been for the better part of the year.

man I am on a roll tonight.

I really don't understand what has happened to Hecht. He was never our most talented player, but he always seemed to be good at doing "the little things" and he especially had a good camaraderie with Pominville on the ice. Nowadays, the two of them together can't seem to get anything done.

No thanks, I've seen Lindy do this too often in the past, and it almost never works out.

If you got a line scoring, you ride that line until it cools off or gets figured out.

Connolly can't puck the puck in the net for Pominville anyway.

Lindy insists on using Jochen at center, and I believe it's soley based on defensive responsibility.

Me thinks it is time to see if Zagrapan will sink or swim.

I think he's drowning and there are no lifeguards in sight.

I don't think they are too high on Zagrapan.

Is that why he's been passed by at least three current :chris: and has yet to have a sniff of the NHL?

Agreed.

I don't understand moving Roy to wing at all. I'm sure Lindy is grasping at straws but I couldn't think of a worse move than taking one of their best centers and turning him into a winger while taking what used to be one of our better wingers and continually making him a center.

Everybody seems to be down on Hecht, he has had an off year thats for sure......But over the past several years he has been one of the steadiest Sabres.........I predict he will turn things around now that he has a bigger role.............Lets go Sabres!!!!!!!!!
