FogBat Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Unreal OT period. That was some awesome hockey. I've only been able to listen to the game on Sirius XM, but it was exciting to listen to nonetheless.
R_Dudley Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 StaffordConnolly Kotalik Nice call if that was a guess.
FogBat Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Incredible save by Miller. Quick poll. Will Kotalik go top shelf backhand deke or glove side shot? I don't know, but Kotalik is to hockey what a designated hitter is to baseball.
JujuFish Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Let's Go Buffalo!!! It's MILLER TIME!
wjag Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Spezza: Missed Kotalik :worthy: Ruutu :censored: Stafford Missed Alfreddson :censored: Connolly :worthy: Fisher: :censored: Roy: Missed Game Over
JujuFish Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Kotalik continues to be $$$ on the shootout!
... Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Nice call if that was a guess. Guess? I think it's obvious who our "goal scorers" are by now.
JujuFish Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 How did he get that by Miller? Damn, Alfie's good.
JujuFish Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 This is the worst Miller's been in the shootout in a long time.
FogBat Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Crap! Fisher? Same beliefs, different team. I have to respect him.
R_Dudley Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Well nice come back down 2 in the 3rd, one point we'll take it. However I do think Miller looked a little tired their at the end just a reminder why he can't play all of them through the grind that will be the end of the season here. Lindy has to get a rotation going w/Lalime....
repster Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Shoot!! Shoot!! Dammit, I fanned on it...
SwampD Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Dammit, I fanned on it... Ah well. I'll take the point. Have we seen the replay of the save miller had on spezza yet? Awesome!
SwampD Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Crap! Fisher? Same beliefs, different team. I have to respect him. Shouldn't you have to respect him even if he had different beliefs? ;)
SabresFan526 Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Eh, Miller was not very good in the shootout tonight. He's been much better this year. But, I'll take the point. It gives us some separation from Florida who lost tonight and gives us a 4 point lead on 8th and 5 point lead on 9th/10th and moves us 2 points behind Montreal with their loss tonight and one point back of the Rangers and Flyers. Good effort by the Sabres in the third to tie the game up. Connolly with another big assist to give him 19 in 19. Not bad. My big concern is Vanek. If he's out for any length of time, this is a very bad situation for Buffalo. Without Gaustad and Vanek, there is no one to set up shop in front of the net on the PP or in general. Of course, he is our leading goal scorer as well. I hope he's okay. What I find humorous is that the only player who has ever neutralized Neil from Buffalo's end in this long running feud apparently is Teppo as he gives him what looks to be a deep gash with his skate. I tend to hate those types of injuries regardless of who they happen to considering the Buffalo history with Malarchuk and Zednik, but I hate Neil and I'll say this is karma. Besides, murderer almost ended Gaustad's career with a skate blade incident that sliced his tendon in his ankle. And, I thoroughly enjoyed the huge hit Mair put on Jerko and then the nice punch in the face, unfortunately it resulted in a PP goal the other way. Oh well, I'll take the point and expect a win at home against these guys on Wednesday night. Hopefully we'll get Vanek back by then.
NowDoYouBelieve Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Getting one point after a two-goal comeback effort...Montreal and Florida both lose. I can definitely live with this. But we had better pound the Sens into the ice when they hit Buffalo on Wednesday.
FogBat Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Shouldn't you have to respect him even if he had different beliefs? ;) nm. I don't have the time to explain this. Here's a brief synopsis for your perusal. Very much the same attitude Curtis Brown had when we had him on the roster.

Doohicksie Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 It was an interesting game to watch... My son and I went to Buffalo Bros., the Buffalo-themed bar here in Fort Worth. There was some guy there getting a Buffalo food fix, oblivious that a Sabres game was about to start. When he found out the Sabres were on he decided to stay for the game. He turned out to be Gary McNamara, one of the on-air hosts of Midnight Trucking Radio Network (which originates from local station WBAP) and native of Tonawanda. Stafford's goal was awesome, Miller's late save was awesome, and considering the Sabres didn't put forth their best effort, I'll take a point.
