kingcongkorab Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Was anybody else surprised on how subdued Lindy was in the post game presser? He talked an awful lot about the problems the team had in the Ducks game ephasizing how he thought the team was not finishing shifts. I was expecting joking Lindy to return after the blow out but he still seemed a bit peeved about the last road game.
LabattBlue Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 That is unacceptable. If brought my kid and she saw that I would never bring her again. It would be a shame to punish my child due to behavior of a few as@#$%%s who can't handle their emotions/booze! This is the RWS crowd infiltrating HSBC Arena.

I think he is just worrying how the team will respond to the Fri & Sat games coming up.
wonderbread Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 This is the RWS crowd infiltrating HSBC Arena. Typical. I was sick and tired of spending my hard earned dollars going up there to see idiots. And I am not even talking about the players, owner or the coach.
inkman Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Typical. I was sick and tired of spending my hard earned dollars going up there to see idiots. And I am not even talking about the players, owner or the coach. Could this be attributed to the successes of 06-08? I've noticed a lot more a-hole fan boys "following" the team, although they know nothing about he team. They just seem to be in it for the party.
FogBat Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Hahahaha what kinda homework do you do at a truck stop man? This just sounds kinky and immoral to me. Believe it or not, I am taking distance learning classes through Liberty University. (I am finding out the hard way that Liberty's theological disposition is totally screwed up. I look at things from a Calvinistic perspective (sans paedobaptism), and the seminary president is the complete opposite. It's almost like I really don't want to take the classes because of their messed up views. My goodness: even Jerry Falwell, one month before his death, at a Friday convocation (4/13/07, no less), called Calvinism "heresy"!) At any rate, I'm digressing from the main thrust of the board. You asked, I answered.
FogBat Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I think the Oilers during the 10-2 drubbing gave a better effort than the Leafs did tonight. Congrats to Thomas Vanek. His hat trick tonight pushes him past Jim Lorentz into 15th place on the Sabres all time goal scoring list with 136. He is only 22 goals behind 14th which is held by Patty Lafontaine. He also passed Bill Hajt on the all-time points list in 30th place. He is four points behind Curtis Brown. Not too shabby for a player in his fourth year. I know it is blasphemy to criticize RJ or the home town broadcast. But after watching other broadcasts of Sabre games MSG really needs to step up it's game. It would be great if they toned down the Vaudeville act and concentrate more on hockey content. I know WNY hockey fans don't need a three hour tutorial like some new fans in new markets. It doesn't mean we don't like to have the game broken down to the X's and O's. More hockey less RJ setting up Harry for his bear in a phone booth lines. I'm not sure if you would agree with me on this, but in quoting "Q" from the series finale of Star Trek: TNG "All good things must come to an end."
deluca67 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I'm not sure if you would agree with me on this, but in quoting "Q" from the series finale of Star Trek: TNG "All good things must come to an end." Two things disturb me about your post. 1) I believe I agree with you. 2) I got the Star Trek reference. I certainly don't want to come across as calling for RJ to be forced out. He earned the right to bow out when he feels it is time. I just feel sometimes that the product produced by the Sabres broadcast is not reflective of one of the most rabid hockey markets in the country.
deluca67 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Huh? I sat behind the Sabres net against Tampa and this one clown in the first row spent the entire night just pounding on the glass like Puddy on Seinfeld.
Eleven Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I sat behind the Sabres net against Tampa and this one clown in the first row spent the entire night just pounding on the glass like Puddy on Seinfeld. Ok, and I, too, think it's annoying. But what did this have to do with the Toronto game, or with the post to which you replied? As to the comments above regarding the fights, I was fortunate enough not to see that last night, but I've certainly seen it before. Sabres games against Eastern Canadian teams tend to get ugly, and I don't quite get why. I've seen fans of opposing teams act like morons (don't scream "Go Habs Go" into a crowd of five Sabres fans hanging out and drinking beers in the corridor), but more often than not, it's a Sabres fan "going Philly" on someone wearing a different sweater. There just is no need for it. There's no need for it on the road, either; I know that part of the reason that Carolina's seventeen fans all hate us (the fans, not the team) is because of the way some Sabres fans acted at Jeff Gordon Chik-fil-A Arena or whatever they call it.
Two or less Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I like Toni's game but will their be room for him after next year. Butler-Sekera Weber-Gragnani Rivet-Myers/Brennan Teppo? Paetsch? I'm assuming Spacek will walk after this year, and Tallinder walks after next year if he isn't moved before. Lydman's deal is up then but it seems like Buffalo will have too many kids ready to fill spots in the NHL. Maybe they won't be ready, or maybe they get traded. Who knows... Myers and Brennan won't be in Buffalo next season. And honestly, i'd be surprised if Gragnani gets the call from the start either. He played well but i don't think he's ready. However, i'd bet almost anything that Myers and Brennan will both need to go through the AHL like everybody else before they make it to Buffalo. Sure Myers has been playing great but it's just the way Lindy Ruff likes to do his business. With his results, who can blame him? As for Brennan, i read on another forum that people who have seen him, say he's been struggling this season. His defensive game is struggling and he only has 5 goals this season. (Had 16 previous two seasons) so he's a year older and not on pace to improve on that 16. Either way, both will see time in Portland, but i think Brennan may see a lot of time in Portland.
carpandean Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Myers and Brennan won't be in Buffalo next season. And honestly, i'd be surprised if Gragnani gets the call from the start either. He did say "after next season", as in when Toni's extension would start.
Two or less Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 My bad. I gotta start reading better. My apology.
inkman Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 He did say "after next season", as in when Toni's extension would start. Thanks!

I actually think there is a chance that Myers is here next year given the new NHL trend with youn players, but I would be surprised if MAG ever plays regularly for the team and like Vanek said, Brennan will need a lot of time in Portand. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Schiestel has surpassed Brennan. Portland should be better stocked next year with Brennan, Schiestel and possibly Biega joining the group down there. As i'm sure you are aware, Myers can't play in Portland next year.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Myers will need another year at the least...........

But it soon morphed into a brat w/ a wicked grin urinating on random objects. (My personnal favorite being the Dol-felon logo.) Could it have been long before imaginary beastiality followed w/ Susie Derkins and Calvin's Hobbes? And don't even get me started on Rosalyn the authoritarian "babysitter." Clearly Calvinism was a sinister plot developed by Scientologists.

Have you never heard of this guy? Clearly, there is no correlation. At any rate, back to the game discussion... B-)

B-) Yeah, yeah, I know, French dude, felt resentment that a German came up w/ a "cool new" religion and like the typical Frenchman had to figure he could do it better than the German did. And as typical, the French don't engineer ANYTHING better than the Germans do, w/ the possible exception of the design of the surrender flag, so he yutzed it up pretty much. IIRC, Reader's Digest version is, he came up w/ a religion that says EVERYTHING is predetermined and there is no free will. Well, if everything is predetermined, then whatever good or bad someone does wasn't up to them, so they might as well do bad (it's a LOT more fun), right? No, no, no, because although everything is predetermined and who is going to Heaven and who is going to H-E-double hockey sticks has been decided already, those who are going to Heaven will flaunt it by being good. Because flaunting one's good fortune is such a noble attribute, right? And how else could one view someone's getting into Heaven simply due to a roll of the bones be viewed as anything BUT good fortune. And once again, the French show their early propensity for designing such masterworks as "Le Car." Sorry, but I think you'd have better luck w/ Calvin and Hobbesism; at least then you get to play Calvinball every-so-often. ;) Or perhaps listening to Rush, not the fat dude down in F-L-A, but the Canucks that rock: Jack, relax, get busy with the facts. No zodiacs or almanacs; no maniacs in polyester slacks. Just the facts. Gonna kick some gluteus max. It's a parallax, you dig? You move around, the small gets big; it's a rig.
