The Buffalo Sabres announced today they have partnered with the American Heart Association to support National Wear Red Day on Friday, February 6. All fans attending that night's game against Montreal are encouraged to wear red in honor of the "Go Red For Women" movement.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for supporting a good cause, but it's already bad enough during Toronto/Montreal games that they get overrun by fans from up north. Now we're going to ask our fans to wear their (Montreal's) color, too?! I guess that they didn't have much choice on the day, though.

I would not be doing that... I would wear a big red ribbon on my jersey or something to support the cause... not against a team that's primary color is red!!!

The Habs will be wearing their unis and blue shorts right? No? What is the big deal? What do the Red Wings do when the have to play the Habs at home? :nana:

This isn't the Joe Fergy days when the Bills changed the helmet to red because all the other teams (Colts, Dolphins, Jets, and Patriots*) had white helmets.

Idiotic. Expected.

I don't know if management purposely ass #%^$#!s itself like this on a regular basis but the coincidences are uncanny.

Does anyone REALLY wonder whose brilliant idea it was?

I'd bet that someone patented the idea -- or at least called to see if he could patent it...

Are you suggesting they should decline the idea of participating in a national movement that supports a great cause because the color scheme doesn't work for you?

No, obviously not. I just thought it was funny.
