Mike Oxhurtz Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 For those that live in the Northern VA area, there's a new Buffalo style restaurant called Scooters Roadhouse Grille. I went there last night and ordered Beef On Weck and it was pretty good. The owner is originally from the Lockport area. It was nice to see deep fried chicked wings again, plus they use the water from Wegman's for their pizza dough. The owner told me he's hoping to be showing the Bills games this coming season. Here's their info: scootersroadhousegrille.com, 540-891-8929. They're located in Southpoint 1 at the 2nd light from I-95 South exit 126.

It's not Buffalo without them.

Beggars couldn't be chosers and 1.99 a six pack was a good deal. Haven't had one since the days of my youth... Who here remembers quarts of Gennie selling for 0.79 cents?
bob_sauve28 Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 There is actually a little bit of Buffalo history there. The 49th New York Regiment made a valiant fight for the "Bloody Angle" there at the battle. Just a horrible slaughter. The 49th a was regiment from Buffalo led by Daniel Bidwell, his statue is is in the city here: http://www.buffaloah.com/h/bidwell/source/4.html The monument to the regiment at Spostylvaia is here: http://www.hmdb.org/marker.asp?marker=10312 Bidwell and the 49th New York later led the assault against Jubal Early's confederates at the Battle of Fort Stevens. Abe Lincoln stiood up in the fort and watched our Buffalo boys go forward to the attack. It was the only time in American history a President watch a battle. Some guy next to Lincoln was actually shot.
