LabattBlue Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Congrats to the "Tyler's" as they both were selected to play for Canada in the U20 WJC in a couple of weeks... http://www.sabresprospects.com/ http://www.tsn.ca/world_jrs/feature/?id=707

Perhaps the complaints about video scouting will subside for a bit.
shrader Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Pretty solid -- we've got 2 out of the 20 guys on that roster. Perhaps the complaints about video scouting will subside for a bit. For guys that have that high of a profile, excelling in a very visible league, the video scouting really doesn't matter. Where things get interesting with the video scouting is those lesser known guys, the 4th-7th round picks. 5 or so years down the road, the success rate of the late draft picks is what will really tell us whether or not it was a stupid move.
inkman Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Haven't Paille and Stafford played in that "championship"?
shrader Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Haven't Paille and Stafford played in that "championship"? Yeah, that's where Paille's reputation for leadership came from. He captained tha canadian team back in '04. MacArthur and Gerbe have also played in the world juniors. I'm too lazy to look back beyond '04, but I'm sure you'll find guy like Roy and Vanek (depending on whether or not Austria qualified) on past rosters.
Two or less Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 WOW. Very nice. I've been reading a lot about the Canadian training camp or what ever you want to call it for the WJC where they selected the 40 guys and Tyler Ennis was always on the outside looking in. They have a crazy amount of solid forwards in camp and nobody that i read expected him to make it. Myers on the other hand was a lock from what i read. Ennis has heated up after a slow start in the WHL and looks like his hard work put him on the team. He must have done something to impress the Canadian coaches. Good job for both!
inkman Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Am I the only one who want ennis to rhyme with penis? The jokes would never end...
