LabattBlue Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Underachieving is a problem and telling these guys to step it up or benching them for a game or two definitely is not the answer. Especially vets like Tallinder or Max. What you see is what you get. I'm not even sure the benchings have had a positive effect on younger players like Paille or Stafford.

I'm not even sure the benchings have had a positive effect on younger players like Paille or Stafford. Is someone like Tallinder really underachieving? He looks the same as he has in the last 3 years. Average and soft like most of the defenseman back there. I think Stafford is definately coming around. He's been playing well and with more confidence.
bob_sauve28 Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Well, the change came from within tonight! Goose played an amazing game, Kotalik scored, Paille scored and the defense was sound
carpandean Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Well, the change came from within tonight! Goose played an amazing game, Kotalik scored, Paille scored and the defense was sound And with that, the slim chance that they might make a trade is now gone.
Bmwolf21 Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 The only hope I cling to is that Darcy's statement was a message to the locker room - don't wait for someone to ride in and right the ship. Do it yourselves. Maybe this team plays with a little life over the next few games and buys DR some time and helps pump up the value (at least a little) of whatever spare parts Darcy is trying to sell off.
Kristian Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Well, the change came from within tonight! Goose played an amazing game, Kotalik scored, Paille scored and the defense was sound Defense was sound, except Tallinder who was his usual useless self, and I liked Goose's hit. Now all we need is Darcy to get on the same page and show some will to change himself, but fat chance of that happening. Good grief, I'm sick of him and Larry.
wjag Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 The Sabres moved into the 8th playoff slot last night.. They are tied with Carolina but have played one less game....

I took his comment more that he is unwilling to make deals and is letting the fans and the team know that this is the roster the Sabres are presenting for better or for worse. Nice win last night, but the team needs to play like that consistantly.

When the team wants to play hockey, they can skate and play with anyone. When they don't want to play hockey, they're a team of the worst lazy and overconfident pussies I ever saw.

You'd figure that with a guy like Lindy Ruff as their coach, they wouldn't play so lazy.

dante23x Posted December 9, 2008 Author Report Posted December 9, 2008 Yeah, quite the question...?! Probably because they know with Darcy Regier as a GM, everyone's roster spot is safe.
