Pirates effort doesn?t pay off

Portland, ME ? It wasn?t the best start for the Portland Pirates, who will play four games over the next five nights as they dropped a 3-1 decision to the Worcester Sharks before a Thanksgiving eve crowd of 3,343 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

 

It the was the Pirates third loss in a row, second in regulation, after winning eight straight games and they?d like to stop the bleeding now before this becomes an epidemic of losing.

Outside of the guys who will be in the NHL within a couple of years(Gerbe, Kennedy, Butler, Enroth & Weber), I am rooting for Felix Schutz for one reason. I have read that his name is pronounced "Shoots" which would be great from a play by play perspective. :lol: :lol:

 

A couple of notes on Schutz...unlike his fellow German Gogulla, he decided to come across the pond and become accustomed to the NA style of play. He has 4 goals and 7 points in his last 6 games.
