The who???

Why do the Sharks have an affiliation with a team in China? 2. If Lemieux wanted to attempt a comeback, he couldn't find a team in the ECHL to give him a chance first? 3. Lemieux was so impressive in his China stint, that he now gets a chance in the AHL? This whole thing is bizarre.
darksabre Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Oddly enough, watching some video on you tube, Asia League Ice Hockey seems like a pretty big deal over there. Derek Plante actually played for the Nippon Paper Cranes from 05-07 and won a championship with them there.

Its a venture to grow the sport of hockey in CHina..Claude Lemieux wanted to to attempt the comeback and he the Sharks told him to start there..Then they would see where it led to..

Claude Balls Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 I hear the Hong Kong Rice Cake Egg Rolls are pretty good as well. Hockey in China??? What's next Sumo Wrestling in Ethiopia? If Claude wanted to play in the AHL that bad, all he had to do was try out with the Amerks. He would be the best player on that team by a country mile and most likely already have been up with Florida for the past month.

nobody Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Hockey in China??? What's next Sumo Wrestling in Ethiopia? Every major business in the world wants to get a foothold in the China market.
Claude Balls Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 Every major business in the world wants to get a foothold in the China market. Key word here being "major". Apparently they haven't seen the TV ratings for N. American hockey. Not to mention how empty half the arenas are when teams aren't winning.

Claude Balls Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 If Bettman thinks he can make more money in China; he'd move the whole league over there if he could. And we all know how smart Bettman is. He would sell his wife, kids and parents if someone offered him enough money.
