spndnchz Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 No offense, but why do you continue to insist on throwing out his Islanders numbers? Maybe I'm wrong, but Deluca's post clearly said "Connolly's career numbers" so you can't just cherry-pick his Sabres stats to make your case. Fine, include them all, Connolly is 0.5586 points per game and Stempniak is .5579 per game (noticeably smaller :rolleyes: ) I wanted to compare more Sabres "system" numbers, and FWIW Drury was .807 with the Sabres and now .679 with Rangers.

I guess my point is that you could have made the point that Deluca was mistaken right from the start by calculating his career numbers without trying to spin the stats. It would be interesting to see the changes in DB, CD and Soupy's numbers after leaving the Sabres and Lindy's pond hockey system.

Players listed by name, then with Sabres points per game (PPG) number, then after Sabres PPG. Drury, :: .807 :cry: .679 Briere, :: 1.02 :cry: .931 Campbell :: .451 :w00t: .897 Dumont :: .62 :w00t: .87 Griere :: .34 :w00t: .37 Pyatt :: .35 :w00t: .46
darksabre Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I still want Dumont back, he's a machine.
LabattBlue Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I still want Dumont back, he's a machine. DR could have used Kotalik's money on Dumont, added a couple of million to that and had 5x the hockey player you have with Mr. Hide-n-Seek.

Dumont is a good player, but he's just not that high on the list of guys who've left who I wish we still had.
Two or less Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I still want Dumont back, he's a machine. Me too, but not at his price tag.
carpandean Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Me too, but not at his price tag. It's amazing how many of our former players fall into that category.
tom webster Posted November 25, 2008 Author Report Posted November 25, 2008 Me too, but not at his price tag. I'll take Dumont at $4 million over Hecht at $3.8 million every day of the week...
Two or less Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I'll take Dumont at $4 million over Hecht at $3.8 million every day of the week... Thankfully we have Darcy Regier at GM and not Tom Webster.
tom webster Posted November 25, 2008 Author Report Posted November 25, 2008 Thankfully we have Darcy Regier at GM and not Tom Webster. Hecht is a contract this organization will rue. You could have had Shanahan play his role, and play it a lot better at $3 million less.
tom webster Posted November 26, 2008 Author Report Posted November 26, 2008 Darcy's top 6 forwards Vanek Roy Max Hecht Connolly Pominville Cap hit 21.93 Tom Webster's Vanek Sundin or another top center at 5 to 7 million Roy Dumont Pomminstein Shanahan Cap hit 22.93 or $24.93 and save the difference by putting in 1 million dollar player for Kotalik on the third line. And that's paying Sundin 7 million
