darksabre Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 people, Paetsch isn't that good. But that isn't the point. The point is that by playing someone Lindy really doesn't favor, it's showing The Third Man In that he is playing THAT BAD. Who cares if Paetsch doesn't come in and save the day, he's not here to. He's just here to make a point. Same with Mancari. Are we really losing anything by benching Max? Mancari might not even have a shot on goal, but how is that any worse than the give-away machine? These call ups are addition by subtraction. Remove a few errors and maybe we'll be a little better.
spndnchz Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Based on what I've seen. He is just not very good in the defensive zone. Last year he was lowest in giveaways per game. Something that's been killing us in these losses. Also lowest in missed shots. Another "system" definition, get the puck on net. Yeah, he gives less some other places but IMHO he's what we need, at least for this next game.

I don't know what the results will be, but try it per minute of TOI instead and see what the numbers look like.
Bmwolf21 Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Based on what? As far as I can remember, Paetsch has only played well in his stints with Buffalo. Not exceptionally well, but I can't remember ever being frustrated with his play. On this we can agree. He's never played as bad as the turnover twins (The Duo Formerly Nnown As Tallydman) have been at their worst, he's a career +12, and he's a solid 6/7 guy who can pop in some points and is usually pretty reliable in his own end. Plus he's 24 years old, so he still has room to improve.
LabattBlue Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Mancari was skating with Goose and Pie-YAY! in practice. The guy is all about offense. Why put him with a player who can't create anything in the offensive zone like Gaustad? Put him somewhere in the top 6 and tell him this is his chance to shine.

Maybe he'll be there by the end of the night? You know how Lindy is with mid-game juggling.

No kidding, why put him on a supposed grinding line? He is NOT a physical grinding type of player, yet with his big size you would think he should be.
spndnchz Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 More evidence. This one is for this year, not enough sample size for Patches, but you can see the giveaway/minute leader and who was getting shot thru and who ain't.
LabattBlue Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Completely in denial... ...Tallinder was understandably miffed. "It's one play but you know what? It's not just that play. I think he had some other issues too. I'm not agreeing with him about benching me after the play. It was a bad mistake but he's the coach and you just have to move on." No Hank! Maybe it time for you to MOVE ON!
Hawerchuk Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 I cannot believe how much Talindeeeeeeeeeeeeer has regressed the past two years. He was a monster in '05-'06! WTF man??? And yeah, I know he broke his arm.
