CallawaySabres Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 This is where my expectation will be the remainder of the season. This way, I can enjoy watching the games and not get so ruffled after every loss. If they dip way below 8, I guess the stress is relieved early this season.

There are also two teams with one less point (and Carolina won their 19th game) and guess who could be as well? Yup, the Flyers. A loss tonight would, at best, put us in 7th, just one point above the 8th and 9th place teams at the 19 game mark. At worst, it would drop us to 9th at that mark. We've ridden that fast start as far as it will take us, using up the 5 points over playoff pace (I use 94 points, though 93 usually is enough) that we acquired in the first seven games and sit just 0.37 points above that pace. A loss tonight and we are below that line for the first time this season. Now, it's a long season, but I'd prefer to get back into a playoff position sooner rather than later. We saw last year just how important every point can be.
